"Master Bedroom Studios" technically started some 25 years ago or so with a Radio Shack 4 channel mixer, a few Radio Shack or what ever could be found at the bottom of a cereal box microphones, and a cassette recorder. To record a teen-age (barely teen-age) band called "Toe Jam!" Ha! The MBS name, however, was officially coined around 2000 when production took hold this time with the taking over o
f the master bedroom of now my own home in Phoenix, AZ, jumping up to the real deal with the purchase of a Mackie d8b, Tascam MX-2424, some Event monitors, and this time no more Radio Shack or cereal box mics! Today MBS resides in Monroe, Louisiana, and has it's own room - though true to its name - a room that is part of the master suite of the house. In this space, 24 to 32 track recording and mixing takes place via digital mixing console and digital hard disk tracking recorder. MBS keeps an ADAT around, too - just in case! MBS began specializing its setup to do multi-track recording of live band shows in addition to studio work pretty much from day 1 of official launching of the MBS name in 2000 inspired by being part of the original live productions of the Phoenix band: The Strand. Equipment has grown and that idea continues to be one of the main focal points of MBS - live show multi-track recording as well as studio work. With the involvement of live show work for recording, MBS is currently gearing up to launch additional operations to provide on location sound system setups and services for live show events. We'll probably throw in a few lights too. ;)
Stay tuned for a possible partner page for the live event productions.
