There’s something special about walking into a room where the bride’s gown and accessories have been thoughtfully laid out. A tidy, well-arranged space allows the details to shine—the delicate beading on the dress, the soft folds of the fabric catching the light, and the understated elegance of the shoes, jewellery and veil waiting to be worn.
It’s a quiet, almost sacred moment before the day truly begins. Taking the time to capture those details, uninterrupted, sets the tone for the story to come—and gives you memories of those little things that made the day uniquely yours. Trust me - the last thing you want is me trying to tidy things up, my wife will agree, its not one of my strongest skills!

The dance floor is where the magic happens. It’s where the ties come off, the heels get kicked to the side, and everyone forgets there’s a camera around.
Some of my favourite shots happen here. The energy, the movement, the moments you didn’t think anyone would see—like your uncle busting out that move or your mates throwing their arms around you during the last song of the night. These are the photographs that remind you how it felt to be there, celebrating with everyone you love. AND - from my point of view, I love the challenge of shooting with flash, it gives such a dynamic kind of image!

I always say I prefer to capture a wedding as it unfolds—honest, unfiltered moments that tell the real story of the day. The laughter, the tears, the split-second looks that you never want to forget. But that doesn’t mean I don’t love those ‘posed’ moments too.
Working with couples who are up for a bit of direction can lead to some of the most striking shots—where we play with light, composition, and those quiet, romantic pauses. Kirsty and Allen were well up for a walk and some good old dips (fortunately not off the rowing boat!) at the amazing on their big day!

There’s no such thing as too much confetti. Trust me.
That moment when it’s thrown—whether it’s the guests going mad with handfuls or delicate handfuls fluttering down—is pure magic. It’s one of those moments where everyone comes alive: grins from ear to ear, cheers, and just a burst of joy you can almost feel through the photograph. Having a great venue team and on this occasion, working alongside Jason from afterglow made this one super easy to organise!
Pro tip: If you’re on the fence about confetti, just go for it—and more than you think you’ll need. The results are always worth it -

Another bit of December daily wedding spam: this time a wedding isn’t just about the “wedding bit”…theres all the rest of it that we look at and try and catch some photos of..This was a shot from Abi and Yan’s wedding at the Taybank Hotel in Dunkeld - and the tables, although simple, were amazingly decorated….this was my shortest wedding shoot of the year, but still one of my favourites!

Following on from yesterdays wedding post - heres on from Ewan and Jodies wedding in Dundee...These guys were SO chilled out - amazing to work with, and you could genuinely tell that they were just enjoying their day. After a fun and very personal service at the Quay, we took a walk along the promenade to the V&A for some shots around the building - which is something else!

From a camera point of view - im sorry but the Black and White just had to be done in the edits...

Comrie Blast in the park from afar…as I had the wee one with me, we decided to watch from the bridge…so the drone seemed like a good way of catching to fireworks this evening - jeeeeeezzzz these things were loud!

A wicked evening again - this time at the ever brilliant for the Brambles group and their annual awards ceremony…
Working with some more great suppliers; the sound and light team .eps, Kelly and Freya (musicians - please send me your tags) - and Peter and his private dining team at the hotel - I think it turned out to be a brilliant evening, wishing all the guests a great night!

The one thing I love about this line of work - is getting behind the scenes of activities and events that I wouldn’t usually go to…
In this case, a big thanks to for asking me along to capture a morning with and …
The staff, guests and suppliers all had a challenge managing and organising such a large event but from what I could see - it looked verrry slick! Iain and his team ran ad hoc podcasts whilst live streaming and recording all of Barbara’s sessions.

Now whilst this is a subject I have very little involvement in - it was very interesting to hear from and speak to all those involved - from security guards to ticket holders!
