These variations can include brilliant greens and blues on their upper parts, and sometimes red or yellow patches on their breast. Females, however, are typically more subdued with olive or greyish coloring, which helps with camouflage.
2. Diet and Pollination: Like many sunbirds, the variable sunbird primarily feeds on nectar, using its long, curved bill to access flowers. I haven’t posted on this account for a long time but I have lots of pretty pictures to share with you. Life has been busy and my focus has been on other things rather than photography for a while. But I went away last November and it sparked my joy and creativity in taking photos again. So my feed is about to get a splash of colour and wildlife, starting with these birds.

Taken at Kiambethu Tea Farm in Kenya, the gardens there were buzzing with beautiful birds and there were a lot of them.

The Red-backed Mannikin is a small African finch, known for its brown back and sociable nature, thriving in diverse habitats from forests to urban areas.

Red-backed Mannikins are known for their remarkable ability to mimic the calls of other bird species, a skill that is relatively rare among finches.
