Since September 2002, launched by initiative of Mrs. Vivienne Daflaar, a former teacher of Secondary Schools with the blessing of the owners of Radio Direct 107.1FM. THE NEW VENTURE
On the tenth celebration of the radio show "Hóben na Palabra" it has been announced that the foundation WE LEAD will adopt and be the new producer of the show. WE LEAD, the foundation is created to emphasize the role of the youth in constructing their ideal nation, with the mission to develop the role of youth as new leaders and nation builders through engagement in their community. THE SHOW
"Hóben na Palabra" offers the youth a platform to be heard. The opportunity to share positively their interest on different topics, projects, collaboration, and all that is important for the youth of today. Weekly, every Sunday nights from 19.00 - 20.00 broadcasting on Radio Direct 107.1 FM. Streaming at www.direct107.com
Starting October 2012, WE LEAD will initiate classes, training and workshops for the new regular radio show. Through partnerships with educational institutions, young people form powerful communications about local and global issues affecting their lives. We believe it is imperative for today's youth to find courage, insight and heart in becoming active citizens and leaders; capable of expressing and affecting what they believe is true and what they dream can be true. The main aim of the radio show is for young people to listen to and find out whats going on in their area, for example: youth projects, sports clubs, youth clubs and many more, we will also give young people information on several topics in their interest. Young people are always complaining about having nothing to do, well our aim is to change that. Strive to make lives better for young people by providing an interactive "what's on - especially for young people guide" over the radio waves for young people to tune in and find out what they can go and do. From being the local gala to there local drama group that happens every week. Instead of sitting in the house bored or hanging about the streets, they can find out what's out there for them and go and do it! TRAINING WORKSHOPS
The training workshops that WE LEAD will set available in numerous training sessions and workshops to young people will allow them to receive top-of-the-range training in our very own studio and allow them to give something back by becoming a radio presenter or reporter, allowing them to take part in our foundation and projects and letting other young people know what's on, as they would be given their own show once a week for an hour. Extensive training is given to all of out presenters to ensure that the best quality radio presenting is products live on air.
