Campus Ceilidh at Northland College DJ Grace hosts this musical journey through Gaeldom, Thursdays from 10-11 AM on 97.7 WRNC (Northland College Community Supported Radio).

Campus Ceilidh is a one-hour show dedicated to exploring the wide world of Celtic music. A ceilidh (pronounced “KAY-lee”) is essentially a Celtic jam session, a chance for musicians who carry on traditional Irish, Scottish, and similar styles to convene and share their talents. Although this ceilidh is on-air, it showcases the variety of this genre as if all the world’s Celtic musicians were gathe

red in Ashland, Wisconsin. Episodes are often dedicated to a significant theme, instrument, or style.

"Perhaps people are now looking at some of the popular music in the charts and finding that, for them, it doesn't have any substance. Perhaps they're waking up and saying, 'Hang on a moment, we want something with a bit more history and something with a story to tell.' I think that's a big part of the resurgence of Celtic music. There's an earthiness to it but, more importantly, it comes from the heart. It's the music of the soul."
