The first time I skated SB without parental supervision was when my good friend Mark Karlstrand got his license (he’s a year older than me). We went to A Skater’s Paradise on State St. and asked where was good to skate. Whoever was behind the counter told us, Blue Curb, and T-Bowls. 😂 Two spots that couldn’t be more different. A couple of giant-ass cement bowls, and a janky-ass curb across the street from the shop. This is Blue Curb now. Not blue, or really even much of a curb anymore. But as I would come to find out, it was most definitely a “spot” back in those days. Second pic is present day A Skater’s Paradise. SB Locs for life! RIP Ricky. 🙏❤️🤙

Back in 2001 Benny (Shortys, Ghetto Child) make a trick-tip book. He loaded me up with film and so I went out and shot a majority of the sequences with my trusty Nikon F4. Dylan Gardner got the Crooked Grind trick-top sequence. Of course he did it switch. Off flat, no sweat. Dirty D is the 👑. I also like the “contributing hair” credit. 😂

I was looking for the footage of Kendall ollieing the Mission steps dressed as The Flying Nun (you know, because Halloween) but it’s buried somewhere. Found this clip instead which is one of my favorite tre flips. Something about a 360 kickflip going frontside just does it for me. Maybe because it’s a rare one… Also, go try and skate that hip. 😂😤 #treflip #skateboardstories @theartistbenkendall
