PI Power Trio first took shape in the backyard at Long Island City Bar, where they entertained summertime crowds with a psychedelically drifting, rather darkly enveloping sound informed by guitarist Pat Irwin’s years of film work. They’re as close to a supergroup as exists in New York.
Pat Irwin was a founding member of the No Wave legends, the Raybeats, as well as 8 Eyed Spy, with Lydia Lunch. He was also a long time touring member of the B-52s and recorded and performed with the band for 18 years.
Sasha Dobson has also released several recordings under her own name and is also a member of w/ Norah Jones.
Daria Grace also has her own group, The Pre-War Ponies

An alt-country singer/songwriter and kick-ass fiddler, a bassist/ukulele player who’s played everything from Hawaiian swing to noise rock, and a Norwegian power-pop vocalist, all coming together to play… holiday tunes? Well… Wynotte? It’s smart, witty at times, deep at others, original, and the vocals are absolutely PERfect! Our fave track? Christmas in Suburbia!

A message from Brett Berns to his dad…

Happy birthday to the greatest man I never knew. Just to hug and kiss him one time. This role model of courage, innovation, collaboration, integration and daring fun. Who lived with heart and soul and love, and whose legacy remains an inspiration.

We’re preparing for several years of epic celebration during which our musical will come to Broadway and Rob Reiner will write and direct a feature film to be released through his Castle Rock Entertainment.

Yesterday, I pulled the Screaming Trees ’Invisible Lantern’ (SST Records c.1988) from the shelf to give it a listen for the first time in ages. And lo and behold, there was a friendly message from Mark Lanegan himself, wishing the Vipers a great tour. I have no recollection of this encounter whatsoever and based on what appears to be a drunken scrawl… I bet Mark wouldn’t either. Great singer! Great band! Great record! What’s the very strangest thing you ever found in a record sleeve? For me, this isn’t it. But that’s another story…
