Happy Heavenly Birthday Shug Fisher! Born September 26 1907 in Tabler, Oklahoma. Shug was a brilliant comedian, actor, musician and singer. He was with the Sons Of The Pioneers, and worked in films as well as TV. More to come.

The list is very short of people who have been inducted into both the Country Music Hall of Fame and the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, but just like in most cases Bob Wills is a trailblazer and in both.

Inducted into the CMHOF in 1968 and R&R HOF in 1999, Bob is joined by other heroes like Hank Williams, Elvis Presley and Ray Charles.

In so many ways, Bob Wills paved the way for so many of these artists. So today, I think we will out on our favorite records from all the greats and be thankful for the wonderful music they have made.

By mid 1946, Deuce and his wonderful band dissolved. Sadly, so did his marriage with Carolina. Although they didn't remain close friends, they did occasionally share a stage together. Deuce moved on to join up with Tex Williams and His Western Caravan...also made up of former Spade Cooley alumni. Carolina and many of the former Spriggens Orchestra musicians morphed into Hank Penny's band! They returned to the Riverside Rancho in late 1946.

Happy Heavenly Birthday to Deuce Spriggens! Born July 15 in Kansas. Deuce was in several popular Western bands. Appeared in a few movies. And…for a short time, he was married to Carolina! More to come.
