From Allison Ybañez:

Hi everyone. You might remember a similar post from last year, but if not let me reintroduce myself.
My name is Allison and I am the director of the Birthing Barn at the Coos County Fair and Rodeo.
What this is, is a large tent that has all kinds of animals varrying in sizes, species, and ages. They all tend to share the same qualities though, they’re either Mothers with Babies, Mothers Expecting Babies, or just Babies in general.

This is such a wonderful and special aspect to our fair and every year we have thousands of families coming through with their kids to see and interact with all the animals.

Due to the timing of the fair, we always try to provide a haven from the heat and have sitting areas and play areas along with a petting zoo for the kids.

The main reason for this post is two-fold
Every year we have to rent a tent to safely house all of these animals for the fair week. We are looking for any company that might want to donate towards the cost of the tent of the birthing barn and in turn have a banner with your logo on the tent and around the pens of the animals. Anyone that is interested can message me through messenger and go over details there.

I would also like to extend the opportunity for having your mother and baby or expecting mother at the Birthing Barn for the week of fair. It’s wonderful exposure and really helps to get these babies exposed to everything. I’ve personally had a few different animals there over the years and it is such a wonderful experience for them to be socialized and getting so much attention. Just as with the donations, if you have any animals you would like there then please message me on messenger and I’d be happy to talk to you about it.

We also do not discriminate against species. So if you have a horse, cow, sheep, goat, puppy, kittens, chicken, llama, pigs, donkey, snake, or gecko, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I’d love to hear from you.

Attached are some photos from previous years with the birthing barn.

On June 6, 1944, Allied forces launched a massive invasion on the beaches of Normandy, France, marking a pivotal turn in World War II known as D-Day. This courageous operation, involving immense bravery and sacrifice, played a crucial role in liberating Europe from N**i occupation. Today, on the 80th anniversary of D-Day, we express our deepest gratitude to the veterans and fallen heroes who made this historic victory possible. Thank you for your extraordinary service and enduring legacy.

OSP Fish and Wildlife asking for the public’s help to identify the person responsible for unlawfully killing a buck deer near Roseburg
DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ore. 5 June 2024 – Oregon State Police Fish and Wildlife troopers in Roseburg are asking for the public’s assistance in locating and apprehending the person responsible for unlawfully killing a buck deer with a small caliber air rifle on May 30 or 31, 2024.

The preliminary investigation indicated the animal was shot while in the 6000 block of Garden Valley Road between Kestrel Lane and Old Garden Valley Road on May 30 or May 31. The killing of the buck deer may not have been intentional, rather an individual may have been attempting to haze the animal away from a yard of residence in the area.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Sgt. Matt Bowersox through OSP dispatch at 800-442-2068 or *OSP (*677) from a mobile phone. Those with information may remain anonymous and a TIP reward for cash or preference points will be offered for information leading to a citation or arrest in the case.

UPDATE: Baylee Campo has been located and is safe.

MISSING PERSON

The Coos Bay Police Department (CBPD) is searching for a woman who was reported missing in the Coos Bay area.

On April 10, 2024, the CBPD received a report expressing concern for 28-year-old Baylee Campo. Miss Campo had not been in contact with family since the beginning of April and was reportedly living in her vehicle in the Coos Bay or North Bend area. CBPD informed local law enforcement agencies that they were trying to find Miss Campo and check her well-being.

Miss Campo was upgraded to missing person status with the CBPD on April 14, 2024, and her missing person status was added to both state and nationwide data systems. This case is being actively pursued by CBPD officers and detectives, who are actively looking for any information that could help in finding Miss Campo's location. It is possible that Miss Campo is no longer in Oregon.

Miss Campo is a white 28-year-old female, approximately 5 feet, 5 inches tall, and 100 pounds, with green eyes and brown hair. She has multiple tattoos on her body, including on her arm, shoulder, and back.

Miss Campo's vehicle, a green Toyota Sienna minivan with Oregon license plate 640GQB, is also unaccounted for.

If you have knowledge that could help with this investigation, contact CBPD at 541-269-8911, Ext. 1, or Coos Stop Crime at 541-267-6666.

*** HIGH SURF WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 PM THURSDAY ***

Expect large breaking waves of 20 to 25 ft through Wednesday afternoon. Dangerously large breaking waves of 25 to 35 are expected Wednesday night into Thursday morning on the South Central Oregon Coast and Curry County Coast, which includes all beaches of Curry, Coos, and Douglas Counties.

IMPACTS...Huge breaking waves will create hazardous conditions along beaches and area shorelines. Waves will inundate beaches and surge into normally dry areas. Infrastructure damage and significant beach erosion can be expected.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS...King Tides are expected during this time and this will increase the inundation of beaches and increase the risk of beach erosion.

🕯️ Today, we come together as a community to remember and honor the 21st anniversary of a tragic day etched in Coos Bay's history. On November 25, 2002, our hearts were heavy as we faced one of our darkest moments.

In the early hours of that fateful morning, a fire ignited in the Far West Truck and Auto Supply store. Brave firefighters from across the Bay Area rushed to battle the blaze. But as they fought valiantly, tragedy struck. The roof collapsed, taking the lives of three courageous heroes: Coos Bay Fire Captain Randy Carpenter, and Volunteer Firefighters Chuck Hanners, and Jeff Common.

Today, let us focus on the lasting legacy of these firefighters and the remarkable resilience our community has shown in the face of such tragedy. They will forever be remembered as heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice to protect our community.

🌟 We Will Always Remember 🌟
