The question of whether Hon. Lam Tungwar Kueygwong’s leadership is clannish, and tribalist remain a pressing concern. His actions suggest he is not a unifying figure, and his leadership starkly contrasts with the legacy of his father. The claim made by Mr. Ruot Palata, who praised Lam Tungwar as a great politician comparable to his father, should be reconsidered.

Hon. Lam Tungwar has positioned himself as a self-imposed junior politician within Rubkona County, whose strategies attract those of limited vision rather than individuals with broader ambitions for the community. His political bbehaviouris characterized by making public promises that deceive his supporters, only to shift his focus toward his clan’s interests once he secures a leadership position. This has left the broader Leek community feeling sidelined, surprised, and worried about their place in his leadership.

The argument that Hon. Lam Tungwar prioritizes his clan and constituency over the Leek community as a whole is evidenced by his recent appointments. The majority of those appointed are from his own clan, with few from other payams. This marks him as the first leader in the history of the Leek community to exhibit such clear ffavouritism

9. Mr. Puok Manyang Thai (Budang Payam/Brother-in-law)

10. Mr. Duol Tong Yoal (Norlamwel Payam)

This bias has created a leadership that serves specific interests, not the collective needs of the Leek community. This pattern undermines unity and fairness, crucial values for the future cohesion and progress of the community.

October 17, 2024 - Akuac Payam, Makuac Payum Boma.

The Acting Governor of Warrap State, H.E Aluel Garang Garang arrives in Akuac Payam of Gogrial West County to attend the burial ceremony of Late Luka Lual Mayardit Thiik.

Luka Lual Mayardit Thiik who is a brother to the President of the Republic of South Sudan, H.E Salva Kiir Mayardit Thiik, passed on at the age of sixty-three (63) years, following a long battle with illness and after exhausting years of medication.

H.E Aluel Garang extended words of condolences on behalf of the Governor of Warrap State, H.E Gen. Francis Marial Abur and on behalf of the people of Warrap State to the family of Mayardit Thiik.

The Acting Governor asked the bereaved family to find solace in the Almighty God through prayers and in the children that have been left behind by the Late.

The body of the Late Luka Lual Mayardit Thiik was today laid to rest at his home in Akuac Payam, Makuac Payum Boma.

Alongside the Acting Governor of Warrap State were the Private Secretary in the Office of the President, Warrap State Ministers, Northern Barh-el-Ghazal State Officials, Gogrial West County Commissioner, Local Government Administrators and Chiefs.
