Just got back from a 4 day 1300 mile road trip through northern Arizona. North rim of Grand Canyon was astonishingly spectacular. Sedona, Flagstaff, Jacob Lake, Alpine, Mule Creek (New Mexico). Saw hundreds of deer and elk. Saw two Condors at Navajo bridge. Bike ran flawlessly. If ever thinking about this kind of trip DM me. Lots of suggestions.

What is it about riding that makes the experience so dramatically different than driving to the same place in a cage? You arrive in a definite different mindset. Openness? Risk? Wind in your face? Part of it, I think, is the necessity to have to pay attention to ALL your surroundings. You see everything, less you run into it! It is a zen moment because you must be truly present. Nobody rides a motorcycle, for long, thinking about bills and other daily problems. It truly is an escape, but one that you are totally attuned to. What's your experience?

I'm runn'n my RK with it's original 96" engine with a 254E cam, high flow air intake, tuned ECM, and upgraded Bub 7 exhaust. Thinking of moving up to a 103" big bore kit. Anyone have thoughts on whether the upgrade is worth it.

Got slammed and soaked by a T-storm yesterday and had to cross two flooded (6" of water) roads. Like running through a car wash. It was a blast!🤣🤣

For a long time I considered visiting the annual David Mann Chopperfest in Ventura, CA. For one reason or another I just never made it there to view the old skool choppers and artwork from a long list of accomplished bike builders and artists. Not so next February, when the wife and I will make the 10 hour ride from home in AZ. We plan on an overnight stop in Indio before an early start on a 3 hour ride to Ventura, where we'll spend the day at the fest, then spend a couple of nights checking out the local flavor.

Hoping it's a great ride and event.

Riding over Arizona's Gila River on the hog across the Gillespie Dam Bridge, built in 1926, is a thrill. Great place for photos.

We are back in Arizona for good. First thing we did was take a ride. Just returned from 6 day road trip with the wife to northern AZ mountain country and visiting. Ran into some rain, but luckily had rain gear. Thinking I'll start regular posts again. Stay tuned!
