“Well, actually it was the blah player’s blah blah that forced them to blah blah, and by the way, I have their entire discography on my YouTunes that I can send you when I get home tonight via BookFace. I have all the time in the world, so

I’ll even make you a mix MP3-CD for your car!”

If you were actually that nerdy, and also a website, you’d be The Deadmonton Bands History Project. (A friendly satirical rendition of Old Ugly Recording Co.) is spearheading the project by volunteering to guide your path to digital auditory enlightenment. This is the most common reason that local bands split up. We wish it wasn’t so, and we hold onto those albums in our hearts and closets until we die; we needn’t be so selfish. Too much amazing music slips through the cracks of well-intentioned real and fake (we prefer the term “phaux”) indie labels, limited runs and lack of distribution. Do we need to waste any more fuel, plastic and money to get amazing music into your eardrums? In 2013, we do not. Hang on to your musical culture to the bitter, immortal beginning.
