Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo (born 2 August 1995) is an Indonesian professional badminton player currently ranked world number 1 in the men's doubles by the Badminton World Federation. He plays for PB Djarum, and has been a member of the club since 2007. 2020–2021
Sukamuljo began his 2020 season by playing in the Malaysia Masters, pairing up with Marcus Fernaldi Gideon again. However, they finished in the quarter finals after losing to Fajar Alfian and Muhammad Rian Ardianto in a close rubber game.[129] Sukamuljo later won his fourth consecutive Indonesia Masters title (third with Gideon) defeating Mohammad Ahsan and Hendra Setiawan in straight games.[130] In February, he alongside Indonesia men's team won the Asia Team Championships held in Manila.[131] In March, he played at the All England Open with Gideon. Sukamuljo made his comeback at the All England Open in March 2021. Taufik Hidayat (born 10 August 1981) is a retired Indonesian badminton player. He is a former World and Olympic champion in the men's singles. He has also won the Indonesia Open six times (1999, 2000, 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2006).[1]

Career summary
When he was young, he joined the SGS club, a badminton club in Bandung, where he trained under Iie Sumirat.

At age 17 he won the Brunei Open and reached the semifinals of the 1998 Asian Championships and the Indonesia Open. In 1999, Hidayat won his first Indonesian Open title. In the same year he also reached the final of the All England and the Singapore Open but lost the finals to his great rival Peter Gade and his senior in the national team Heryanto Arbi respectively. Hidayat achieved the world number one ranking when he was still 19 years old in 2000 after winning the Malaysia Open, Asian Championships, Indonesia Open and was once again runner-up at the All England Open where he was defeated by Chinese player Xia Xuanze.

Hidayat won the men's singles gold medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics defeating Hidetaka Yamada of Japan and Wong Choong Hann of Malaysia in the first two rounds. Hidayat defeated Peter Gade of Denmark 15–12, 15–12 in the quarter final and Boonsak Ponsana of Thailand 15–9, 15–2 in the semifinal. Playing in the gold medal match. He defeated Korean Shon Seung-mo 15–8, 15–7 in the final to win the gold medal. In the same year, Hidayat successfully retained his Indonesia Open title by defeating Chen Hong 15–9, 15–3 in the final and won his second Asian Championships title.

In August 2005, he won the men's singles title at the World Championships defeating world number one Lin Dan of China 15–3, 15–7 in the final. With this title, he became the first men's single player to hold the Olympic and World Championships title in consecutive years.

Hidayat won the men's singles gold medal at the Asian Games in 2002 Busan and 2006 Doha. He also won the 2007 Asian Championship, and two men's singles gold medals at the Southeast Asian Games in 1999 Bandar Seri Begawan and 2007 Nakhon Ratchasima.

Popular media has at times focused on the perceived rivalry between Hidayat and Chinese player Lin Dan, referring to the two as "arch rivals".[2][3][4]

Personal life
He married the daughter of Agum Gumelar, Ami Gumelar, on 4 February 2006. They had a daughter in early August 2008, named Natarina Alika Hidayat. She was born shortly before he had to leave for the World Championships.[6]

Hidayat's shot-making strengths were his backhand (as he is perhaps most famous for his backhand smash, revered for its unusually high generation of power), forehand jump smash, drop shot (reverse slice in particular), smooth footwork and deceiving net play. Hidayat's forehand jump smash in the 2006 World Championships was once the fastest smash recorded in singles competition: he recorded 305 km/h (190 mph) in a match against Ng Wei.[7]

Liu Yuchen (Chinese: 刘雨辰; pinyin: Liú Yǔchén, born 25 July 1995) is a Chinese badminton player.[1] He was the men's doubles World Champion in 2018,[2] also two times Asian Champion in 2017 and 2018 partnered with Li Junhui. Liu was part of the national team member that won the 2018 Asian Games, 2018 Thomas Cup and 2019 Sudirman Cup. Together with Li, he achieved the men's doubles world number 1 in 6 April 2017, and occupied the top ranking for ten weeks.

Ko Sung-hyun (고성현; Korean pronunciation: [ko.sʌŋ.ɦjʌŋ]; born 21 May 1987) is an internationally elite badminton player from South Korea.[2] Ko Sung-hyun is a right-handed player who specializes in doubles events. His current partner in the men's doubles is Shin Baek-cheol.

His best performances to date were at the 2010 Hong Kong Super Series where he won the men's doubles tournament with Yoo Yeong-seong[3] and at the 2010 Paris World Championships where they reached the round of sixteen.

Pitha Haningtyas Mentari (born 01 July 1999) is an Indonesian badminton player from Jaya Raya Jakarta badminton club.[1] She was the gold medalist at the 2017 World Junior Championships and the bronze medalists at the 2019 Southeast Asian Games in the mixed doubles with Rinov Rivaldy.[2][3] Mentari also part of Indonesia women's team that won the silver medal in 2019 Southeast Asian Games.

The partnership ended in the end of the 2013 shortly after they won gold medal in 2013 Southeast Asian Games in Myanmar due to Rijal's resignation from national team.

Lee Yong-dae (Hangul: 이용대; Hanja: 李龍大; Korean pronunciation: [i.joŋ.dɛ̝]; born 11 September 1988) is a professional badminton player from South Korea who had been successful in both men's and mixed doubles. He reached world number 1 ranking with 4 different partners, Jung Jae-sung, Ko Sung-hyun and Yoo Yeon-seong in men's doubles, and Lee Hyo-jung in mixed doubles. He won a total of 43 Superseries titles, 37 in the men's doubles, the most of any doubles player in one discipline, and 6 in mixed doubles. Personal life

2017: World number 1
Now competing only in the world's biggest events, Sukamuljo and Gideon started 2017 by making up for their 2016 first round defeat with a tournament victory at the coveted All England Open in March, thus earning a number one men's doubles world ranking.[74].[75] They then secured their second consecutive India Open title,[76] and after that won the Malaysia Open.[77] Their remarkable winning run was then stopped by Danish veterans Mathias Boe and Carsten Mogensen in the semifinals of the Singapore Open.[78] In May they played for Indonesia at the Sudirman Cup held in Australia. In group round robin play they won their country's only point in its surprising loss to India[79] but in group play against Denmark they again lost to Boe and Mogensen, as Indonesia, for the first time in the Cup's 28 year history, was eliminated in the group stage of the competition.[80] In June the duo was upset by another Danish pair, Kim Astrup and Anders Skaarup Rasmussen, in the first round of Indonesia Open.[81]

They won gold in 2012 Summer Olympics, 3 golds in BWF World Championships in 2011, 2014 and 2015 and a gold at the 2014 Asian Games. Having won all major events as a pair, they are considered as one of the most successful mixed doubles pairs of all time.

Having found huge success in mixed doubles with Zhao, Zhang partnered Fu Haifeng with whom he won gold in 2016 Summer Olympics. After this, Fu retired and Zhang partnered Liu Cheng and became World Champion in the men's doubles at the 2017 BWF World Championships.
