No dia 26 de setembro, a Casa Museu Eva Klabin vai inaugurar a exposição “Novas Raízes”, da artista Rosana Paulino, com curadoria de Lucas Albuquerque. Esta mostra apresenta três décadas de uma carreira dedicada à investigação de temas essenciais como memória, natureza, identidade e a história afro-brasileira, em diálogo criado pela artista com a arquitetura e o acervo da Casa Museu.

“Novas Raízes” traz ao público tanto obras inéditas quanto algumas das criações mais reconhecidas de Paulino, incluindo “Espada de Iansã”, “Paraíso Tropical”, “Ama de Leite” e “Das Avós”.

Abertura: 26 de setembro, das 18h às 21h.
Período: 26 de setembro de 2024 a 12 de janeiro de 2025.
Visitação: de quarta a domingo, das 14h às 18h.
Local: Casa Museu Eva Klabin - Av. Epitácio Pessoa, 2480.
Entrada livre e gratuita.

We’re very excited to announce our new release “Interior” by .

The artist book “Interior” is an experiment of artist Juliana Cerqueira Leite to interpret her inner body sensations questioning the conventional anatomy representations.

For this project Juliana created drawings that aim to represent her impressions on a sensorial trip into the interior of her body, starting from the mouth, passing through different organs until getting to the a**s and back.

The book is composed by 22 color drawings in 3 different formats especially developed for this publication and reproduced in real scale, including a notebook facsimile the artist wrote during her reflections on her body for the creative process behind the drawings.

Playing with scales makes of this book-object a sensorial and sculptural dynamic experience. The choice for a loose binding, where the diptychs are only held by an elastic increases the feeling.

This is a limited edition of 250 copies of which 25 are a special edition that includes an embossed sculptural cover, handprinted by the artist on a traditional engraving press at .rbpmw, NYC, the oldest and longest-running community print shop in the United States. The special edition comes enclosed in an Italian paper handmade box with a hot stamping finish.

The first batch of the special edition is already SOLD OUT!

Estão abertas até 15 de dezembro as inscrições para o Programa de Residência Artística 2024 do Sertão Negro Ateliê e Escola de Artes.

As residências internacionais (uma vaga) e nacionais (duas vagas) terão duração de quatro semanas, sendo a primeira em um quilombo no estado de Goiás e três no Sertão Negro, em Goiânia. As duas vagas de residência artística local destinadas para moradores de Goiás tem duração de 12 meses e incluem uma bolsa mensal de dois mil reais.

O programa visa criar um diálogo entre as artes visuais, o meio ambiente e conhecimentos tradicionais. Durante o período no Sertão Negro, os residentes internacionais e nacionais terão acesso a alimentação, hospedagem, subsídio de 1.500 dólares e custeio de passagem aérea.

Este programa de residência artística é apoiado pela Open Society Foundations, por meio da Soros Arts Fellowship concedida a Dalton Paula em 2023 para o projeto "Quilombo Escola".

Applications for the 2024 Artist Residency Program at Sertão Negro Studio and School of Arts are open until December 15.

The international (one place) and national (two places) residencies will last four weeks, the first of which will be spent in a quilombo in the state of Goiás and three at Sertão Negro, in Goiânia. The two local artist residency vacancies for residents of Goiás will last 12 months and include a monthly grant of two thousand reais.

The program aims to create a dialogue between the visual arts, the environment and traditional knowledge. During the period in the Sertão Negro, the international and national artists will have access to food, accommodation, a subsidy of 1500 dollars and airfare.

This artistic residency program is supported by the Open Society Foundations, through the Soros Arts Fellowship awarded to Dalton Paula in 2023 for the "Quilombo Escola" project.

El libro de artista “Interior” es un experimento de la artista Juliana Cerqueira Leite de interpretar sus vivencias internas corporales cuestionando las representaciones anatómicas convencionales.

Para este proyecto, Juliana ha creado dibujos que pretenden representar sus impresiones sobre un viaje sensorial al interior de su cuerpo, partiendo de la boca, pasando por diferentes órganos hasta llegar al ano y volviendo.

El libro está compuesto de 22 dibujos de tres diferentes tamaños creados especialmente para esta publicación reproducidos a escala real, incluyendo también una versión facsimilar del cuaderno de apuntes escrito por la artista durante sus reflexiones para el proceso creativo de los dibujos.

El juego de escalas hacen de este libro-objeto una experiencia dinámica sensorial y escultural, así como la encuadernación en dípticos sueltos sujetos solamente por un elástico.

Esta es una edición limitada de 250 ejemplares de los cuales 25 son edición especial que incluye la cubierta escultórica impresa manualmente por la artista en una prensa de grabado.

The artist and the publisher .familia will be present to discuss the artbook project that includes a very special edition with one or two photolithography prints - "Hot Novo Mundo" and "Hotel Sea" printed by .

"Bem-vindo (ao Rio) / Welcome (to NYC)" is an artist book that represents a dialogue between images from Rio de Janeiro and New York City, mirroring local concepts through humor, graphic and visual connections. Both the artist and the editor are authentic “cariocas” (born and bred in Rio) and lived significant periods in New York City, creating unique visual memories of both cities and its remarkable urban and lifestyle icons.
