Murmurs: A Bilingual Journal that Publishes Artistic Submissions from Medical Students and other Healthcare Providers & Recipients

The creation of Murmurs, the Bilingual Literary Magazine of Art and Healing, aims at reimagining the clinical practice of medicine, and revisiting the humanistic and spiritual elements of healing. In choosing the title Murmurs we hope to convey the idea that the exper

ience of health, birth, death, disease, and healing are fundamental and inescapable elements of the human condition which invite for interpretation, analysis and reflection. In reevaluating our role in the human experience we hope to further characterize ourselves and comprehend our experiences as health practitioners, while augmenting our responses with sensitivity and empathy. This is not solely a project for doctors, rather an endeavor to assess and examine the process of healing as a whole. We are open to submissions from multiple perspectives, be it from the perspective of the white coat or hospital gown – or outside of it completely. We also appreciate that health is fundamentally rooted in culture; we thus encourage viewpoints from a diverse array of backgrounds.
