The new issue (11) features an exploration of and interview with Private Experiment, a DIY Indonesian industrial tape label whose mission is (in their words) “preserving decadent electronics for scums and lowlifes”. Among PE’s artists is btc alumn & friend Mother Juno (with whom an interview can be found in Vol. 5 of the zine). The promo image below features the introductory question of Private Experiment‘s interview. The rest of the interview with the label’s head of program can be found within the upcoming print issue. Hey friends, Volume 11 of the print zine series is now available for pre-order. Vol. 11 continues in compiling interviews conducted during quarantine and the height of the pandemic last year. Featured in this special heavy-reading issue of the zine series are interviews with Richard D. Wolff (author, Marxian economist and Professor Emeritus of Economics at the University of Massachusetts Amherst), anti-authoritarian psychologist and AK Press author BRUCE E. LEVINE, and essayist & novelist NATHANIEL RICH (about his book ‘Losing Earth: A Recent History’), as well as an interview with and exclusive work by New Zealand poet and Amphetamine Sulphate author JOSIAH MORGAN. Underground music, of course, is also here in spades, this time with features from the great Jayson Green of Orchid & Panthers, the head of program at PRIVATE EXPERIMENT (Indonesian tape & zine label), Mrs. Magician (California garage rock), Ed Scissor (UK hip-hop/HighFocus artist), STAR TONGUE (Florida-native/UK-based psychedelic/electronic experimental solo project), THERAPY (San Diego hardcore), Sweeping Promises (Massachusetts post-punk), LASSO (hardcore punk from Brazil), Radical Kitten (feminist French post-punk), as well as a showcase of the photography of Taylor Schantz (Florida-native, New York-based photographer). Vol. 11 is available for pre-order at the link above, or as always you can just DM! Note: I’ve decided to do a pre-order on this issue just because it’s been a minute and I wanted an idea to see how many I’ll need to get copies of. The zines will be printed and shipped promptly in 2-3 weeks. I can’t thank y’all enough for your continued support, everyone’s support and enthusiasm literally keeps this project going and I’m so thankful everyone gets as much out of the bands and scene as I do. I’m so humbled and happy to be surrounded by such talented artists, friends and peers, and that they continue to want to collaborate on things like the zine series.
