The forthcoming "The Phone Eats First" is an ode to how platforms like Instagram and TikTok have impacted what we eat. Best-selling author and food critic Allyson Reedy combed the internet to curate the absolute best 50 recipes, focusing on the same qualities she looks for when reviewing a restaurant: flavor, innovation, welcoming hospitality, and something that looks great on a plate, in a bowl, or, as in the case of some social media crazes, in a muffin tin.

Recipes from top food bloggers and Instagram and TikTok stars like Smitten Kitchen, The Salad Lab, The Modern Nonna, and Cooking with Lynja are organized by breakfast, lunch, snacks & sides, dinner, dessert, and drinks.

"The Phone Eats First Cookbook: 50 of Social Media's Best Recipes to Feed Your Feed . . . and Then Yourself" goes on sale March 11th. Available for pre-order.

Jones-Hogu’s 1971 screenprint Unite embodies the Black Arts Movement and the principles of the African Commune of Bad Relevant Artists (AfriCOBRA). Featuring Black figures with raised fists and the bold, interlocking word “UNITE,” the artwork symbolizes solidarity and resistance. Jones-Hogu’s vibrant colors and rhythmic repetition reinforce the power of collective action, making Unite both a reflection of its time and a timeless call for strength within the African American community.

In Japanese culture, there is the concept of 'hare' (roughly translated as festive or extraordinary occasions) and its antonym is 'ke' (roughly translated as ordinary, or day-to-day). It is often said that living a life of 'ke' alone withers the spirit. Human beings need the occasional moment of 'hare', and they should dress accordingly. Resolving this tension of dressing for both work and play, formal and informal, is what has driven Motofumi “Poggy” Kogi over two decades of design and curation.

Poggy, a sought-after fashion tastemaker and street style star, challenges rigorous definitions of what is done or not done, inventing new ways of dressing up. In the forthcoming "Poggy Style: Dressing for Work and Play", he shares with readers how fun and appropriate it can be when you break the so-called rules.

Seen here: "80 days", Deborah Roberts, 2018

Roberts’s 2018 collage honors George Stinney Jr., a 14-year-old African American boy wrongfully convicted and executed in 1944. The title reflects the brief span between his arrest and death. Using her signature collage technique, Roberts creates a fragmented portrait of Stinney against a stark white background, highlighting his vulnerability and the injustice he faced. Part of her "Nessun Dorma" series, the work confronts racial violence and the failures of the justice system, inviting reflection on historical and ongoing struggles against systemic racism.

Seen here: "Walking", Charles Alston, 1958

Alston’s 1958 painting captures African American women and a young girl moving forward with purpose, symbolizing the steady progress of the Civil Rights Movement. Created two years after the Montgomery Bus Boycott, the work reflects a deliberate, unwavering march toward equality. 16/02/2025

An international treasure on the UNESCO World Heritage List, Fallingwater is a total work of art. The home was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright for the Kaufmann family, who sought to live in harmony with the natural world. The rooms of the house reflect this ideal and remain suffused with a natural aesthetic that embraces stone and wood, handwork and craftsmanship. This atmosphere pervades the whole and serves as an organic setting for the Kaufmanns’ collection of objects, paintings, textiles, sculpture, and products of craft that enrich the house.

The forthcoming "Fallingwater: Living With and In Art" offers an exciting new look at a masterpiece, seen for the first time in its fullness.

Seen here: "An Offering", Stephen Towns, 2017

Towns’s 2017 series pays tribute to the countless West Africans who endured the horrors of the Middle Passage. Inspired by "The Slave Ship: A Human History", the eight mixed-media works blend painting and quilting, each shaped like the 18th-century British slave ship Brookes. Haloed figures appear against gold-leaf backgrounds, surrounded by butterflies symbolizing transformation and the souls of the departed, while hands holding candles offer gestures of remembrance. Now part of ’s collection, the series honors those lost while highlighting the resilience and humanity of the enslaved.
