Hey, friends. Jared here. I try to talk to people while I’m out and about and find out about their electronic projects, but I have a limited capacity for meeting and greeting, plus am sort of small with large, fluffy hair, so maybe I don’t get to meet everyone I would like to. So, instead of relying on my own tenacity to cover the potential artists around, I’m asking here to cast a wider net.
Circuit Church runs as a free series dedicated to electronic and experimental music, and we’ve kept that focus for a long time running - since 2016, actually, although we took a break in 2020 like most folks.
There are many places for DJs and for more traditional songwriters to show their stuff. CC has kept our focus narrow to electronic and experimental performers to encourage and provide space for that slice of Orlando’s music scene. But that necessarily limits our pool of possible artists. We need more folks to come and perform to our receptive audience to keep it going, and we’re actively looking for new voices now. If you’re doing something electronic or experimental and want to play for a bunch of people who will really listen, message us with a demo (formally recorded or a video clip, either is cool). Send your friends who fit this description our way, too. We want to find artists with a unique perspective, and love featuring q***r, BIPOC, and neurodivergent artists in our showcases. Electronic music was built by people left on the margins and we celebrate that fact and the bravery of these early musical pioneers. Hit us up and let’s get you you the schedule, as I so often say to people I meet who tell me about a project they’re doing. Well, that’s me saying it to you, now, electronic performer.
