The Last Ward To submit see our guidelines in the About section. For Prose:
Submit one piece per reading period. Novel and memoir excerpts are acceptable if self-contained.

The Last Ward is a quarterly independent, print and literary zine that publishes fiction, creative non-fiction, flash fiction, poetry, visual art and literary and cultural essays in Buffalo, New York. We seek work of the highest quality, but otherwise do not have any specific guidelines for style or subject matter. We have no mailing address, so send all submissions to [email protected] For

all submissions note which editor the submission is going to in the subject line (FOR FICTION EDITOR, FOR POETRY EDITOR, ect.). General submissions of prose can run up to approximately 5,000 words. Submissions should be pasted into the body of the email—attachments will not be accepted. For Poetry:
Submit one to five poems per reading period. Submission should be pasted into the body of the email as well. For Artwork/Photography:
Submit one to three pieces of work per reading period. Send all artwork or photography as a low resolution JPEG attachment. If we like what we see we will email you for a higher resolution file of the piece.
