Sticky Soy-Onion-Ginger Chicken

1/2 kg chicken breast fillet, sliced to strips
1 large white onion, sliced
2" ginger, julienned (sliced thinly into strips)
1/2 cup soy sauce
1 cup hot water
1 tbsp brown sugar
Pinch of black pepper

Optional Sides:
Eggs
Kimchi
Lettuce
Furikake

Instructions:

1. Clean chicken and marinade with soy sauce for at least 10 minutes.

2. Stir fry onions and ginger in a hot pan with a little amount of oil.

3. Add chicken strips without the marinade. Stir fry.

4. When chicken are halfway cooked, add marinade (soy sauce), and hot water.

5. Add black pepper and sugar. Stir. Let it simmer uncovered until sauce thickens.

6. Add soy sauce when it's too bland, or water if it's too salty. Make adjustments on its taste. Alam niyo na iyan mii.

7. Scramble eggs.

8. Put rice in a bowl, add cooked chicken and its sauce over it, and place scrambled eggs on one side, your lettuce on the other, and kimchi. Top it with some furikake if you have some.

9. Enjoy!

**You can switch chicken to fish/seafood, beef, pork, or seitan**

Thank you so much Repertory Philippines for the FREE tickets! My son and I really enjoyed "Snow White and the Prince" yesterday at Greenbelt 1 🥰

This is a must-see for kids! A little interactive and truly entertaining. Beautiful voices, smooth flow of each scenes, and the musical arrangement was wonderful! Congratulations to the cast! And the production design and costumes are amazing!

P.S. This is a different take on Disney's version. Iba storyline at songs.

Gusto mong makipagkita sa "friends" mo pero di mo magawa kasi kasama mo anak mo kahit saan tapos either walang anak friend mo o sobrang laki ng age gap na ng mga anak niyo kaya ma-bo-bore lang siya. Ang ending hindi ka na lang makikipagkita 😅 Hindi ko rin maiiwan anak ko kahit kanino kasi ayaw ko maging burden at magaaalala lang din ako 😅 haaaaaaaaayyy...

Ilang beses na ako nasabihan nyan. 😅

Ikaw ba, have you ever thought of buying an item just because you can afford it?

Sa totoo lang kaya ko naman talaga. Hindi sa nagmama-yabang pero diba makaka kita ka nga ng 0% downpayment na car sa mga mall. Crazy!

Ilang beses na din ako na-tempt lalo na nung time na sa team namin ako lang walang sariling car kahit na ilang years na ako nagwo-work nun.

Yet when I think about it, practical ba talaga for me and more importantly, gusto ko ba talaga ng sasakyan?

If ever, my reasons for getting a car is convenience and so that I have something to take me from point A to B.

I want convenience and I love to travel but my place
.. is just 3-min walk from the grocery, gym & malls.. 5-min ride to the provincial bus stations and airport buses.. 15-min ride to my workplace

At isa pa, walang parking space! So it means, I have to transfer to a new place na may parking. 😅

In my mind, kahit na wala akong sariling sasakyan, my place of residence makes everything convenient. Also, the additional costs of owning a car is something na hindi ko pa priority.

👉 Don't get me wrong. It's not about owning a car vs. not. It's about asking yourself if you want/need it VS. na-pressure ka nanaman sa norms ng society.

In fact, I'd even advise some of my clients to get one kung nakikita namin yung need. My father got an owner jeep in his late twenties and it served our family for 20+ years.

Kung gusto mo ng sasakyan para pang-porma or dahil ayaw mo mag-commute, go ahead! Siguraduhin mo lang na malinaw sayo yung reasons mo for getting one AND you're prepared for the responsibilities that comes with it. Applicable di lang sa sasakyan but for buying any big-ticket item.

So kelan ako bibili? I don't know! Eventually siguro but certainly not now.
