Do you hesitate to change up the decor in your home?!
I typically go with B&W when choosing prints for my home, but I’m so glad I decided to go with the pops of colour from these prints! I stuck with my love for travel photography for this gallery wall, and it was a lot of fun choosing prints from some of our favourite places.

Every year, as long as I can remember, we’ve taken our girls to the Field of Crosses for Remembrance Day—what they fondly call ‘Poppy Day.’ We talk with them about why this day matters, why we honour those who served, and what their sacrifices mean for our lives today. We answer their questions, share stories of those in our community who have bravely served, and reflect on the freedoms we’re so grateful to have, freedoms that so many around the world can only dream of. We want them to understand the importance of remembering and to carry this respect with them always. Thank you, Veterans. Lest we Forget ♥️

Last week, I had the immense honor of co-captaining Team Canada at the IPRF World Championships in Grand Junction, Colorado, USA. It was a week filled with hard-fought victories, personal triumphs, and moments of overcoming obstacles that truly showcased the resilience and strength of Canadians. With a full roster of incredible athletes from coast to coast, this was a true representation of Team Canada, and I couldn’t have been prouder to stand beside them.
Being part of this journey and supporting our team through every challenge was a privilege that I will never forget. I shed more than a few tears of pride during the closing ceremonies, knowing that the countless hours of preparation by the organizing members of the Canadian Precision Rifle Association had finally paid off.
The camaraderie, determination, and spirit of this team will stay with me forever, and I’m excited for what’s next for this sport in our country—Canada is only just beginning to make its mark on the world stage.
I was also thrilled to witness several members of Team Apex proudly representing their home countries (Canada, Norway, Sweden, and South Africa). Supporting our own athletes in tandem with Team Canada was an incredibly rewarding experience.

🤸🏾♀️🇺🇸 I’m going to talk about Simone Biles’ hair.
This week I was pulling my kids hair up into top buns to keep their hair out of their faces when swimming in the lake. My oldest looked at herself in the mirror and with her slightly imperfect and wispy bun exclaimed (to her extreme delight):“Oh my gosh - it’s just like Simone Biles!!!”, followed by her sister asking for the exact same hairstyle for the same reason.
My girls have been following Simone Biles’ progress through qualifiers and have been glued to her performances in Paris, cheering her on and asking every day if she will be competing. They look up to her because of how strong and powerful she is and because she always smiles and looks like she is actually having fun in her routines.
They love her sparkly leotards and how she is chatty with her teammates on the sidelines. They never once stopped to say that her hair wasn’t prim or perfect, in fact, loved that their own slightly imperfect buns made them look “just like her” because their own hair doesn’t lend itself to daily perfection. I hope that they never forget that it is about sport, athleticism and enjoying yourself - even at the highest level.

About Carlee Krtolica, Editor-in-Chief:
Carlee is the Editor-in-Chief at Styled to Sparkle, a writer, sommelier, expert traveler, wife and dog mom. She has a Bachelor of Commerce Degree and has completed her WSET Level 2 Certification.
Carlee’s love of travel, as well as her meticulous notes and photographic memory sparked the idea for the website. She wanted to share her travel experiences, recommendations for hotels and restaurants with an ever-growing and receptive audience.
Who Is The Styled to Sparkle Girl?
She’s a girl who loves to shop, cook and travel to new places. She loves wine, bubbles and custom craft cocktails – and of course dinner dates.
