so we are working on some tings and they decided to call their own rehearsal to practice, everyone couldn’t make it, but I tell you NOW you can feel the whole army’s presence, last week @petra.pet said something that will forever stick with me, army isn’t a class, it’s a community, they now go to mutiple classes from multiple teachers in multiple styles and we always encourage them to learn where they feel like they are comfortable to learn... these guys are everything man, from rehearsals to skinnin out back to rehearsals again.. So while we had technical issue, I decided to have a talk with the people.
I love how everyone’s response was soo positive, it shows that some people get it..
But I had to also show the reality as to why some don’t.
This is not just about me, it’s beyond me, it’s WE, as Jamaicans, as Caribbean’s, it’s bringing light and understanding to what we do.
Some may get it, some may not, but as long as ive tried, that’s the most important thing to me.
I’m not a pick me, I’m just tired of seeing us still being taken for advantage or a joke or used when people choose, I’m not just a caribbean on the good days, I’m caribbean 365 + 1 on the leap year. I don’t just represent dancehall when it’s poppin, I represent it all year, every year, every day, every hour, every minute and every second.

So today I got the pleasure of performing at SOAS university.
I wanted to perform to this song for a reason...
For me, this meant a lot, I’ve never got to perform on a uni stage, when I grew up I went through a lot that unfortunately stopped the growth of my studies, i don’t have education under my belt... but this piece shows just how far you can come if you keep pushing, now I’m not taking lectures or classes, but I’ve been blessed to be up there to spread the word and knowledge of the culture...
I know Jah is guiding me, I wouldn’t have made it on this stage if I didn’t
How can I keep quiet when it’s taking me to the educational world, the same world I was told “urban dance” can’t get you anywhere, the same teachers that refused it in school.. If you believe in something, no matter how little the tools you have, you can make something 🙏🏾
