And even if you’re not yet at this stage you’re running ads, the sooner you get your pixel uploaded the sooner it will start gathering data for you a.k.a. seasoning the pixel and will give you 🔥warm audiences to target for when you are ready..

I try and be politically neutral on here...BUT...last week, when the Government decided to tell business owners to cut back on marketing spending so they can reduce the cost of their products and services...It broke my tiny marketing heart!

You wouldn't only supply one retailer to cut distribution costs!
Or, only print packaging in one colour to reduce production costs.
Or, employ a graduate as a managing director to reduce wages...you get the drift!

Sorry, Boris but this is simply not how it works, now is the exact time to double down on marketing, not reduce it!

And the thing is, these are really simple things … but when you look at them in advance, you can plan marketing and content things around what you see accordingly, and because you know it’s a comin’? You’ll have planned [and will be sharing content] accordingly.

🐭📚 I know I've been as quiet as a mouse in a library lately, but sometimes the “social scroll” gets to us all and we just need to press pause, catch our breath, and stage a "mini digital detox" intervention on ourselves 🧘🏻‍♀️

📲 For me, I took the social media apps off my phone, (of course, I still needed to access them on my desktop for work) but the line between personal and working became much less blurred and I fell down far fewer digital rabbit holes as a result 🕳🐇

👩🏻‍💻 I signed up for a daily Focusmate session - If you've never heard of Focusmare, it's an amazing space for Freelancers and homeworkers to have a free 50 min co working session. I get so much done in these sessions they've become like my own personal power hours.

🌳 I've prioritised time for myself every day and added it to my diary... whether that's a gym session, a walk, a meditation or a coffee.

And now ....I feel more balanced, my focus is better, and I can feel my creative spark beginning to re-emerge.

One of the biggest challenges for businesses on social media is to consistently create quality content on a daily basis.

But it's this consistency that can really help to maintain engagement and build stronger relationships with your online community.

One of the best ways to help create consistent social media posting is to use a content calendar.
My fav scheduler? ContentCal - I find it intuitive to use and can schedule content across multiple platforms for multiple clients.

Y’know those things you find yourself telling every client?

“Don’t be afraid to repeat yourself” is one of mine.

Because I know (waaay too well) how easy it is to slip into this idea that every line of copy, every social media post, every email has to have shiny new words or a totally new concept.

But all that does is dilute your message.

So say it again instead. Repeat yourself. Hone in on a handful of good lines and OWN them.

I promise you, rather than people noticing and getting annoyed about it, it’ll actually help your words stick. And that’s kinda the point, right?

Last week we talked about how import regular, consistent content is - Social media success does not (unfortunately )) happen overnight. Just like in real life, connections, and friendships take a long time to build.

🙏Please resist the 'get 10,000 followers FAST' schemes - Many of the accounts are ghost accounts or bots, they absolutely won't be your tribe and therefore won't engage in your content. If your followers don't engage with you then the algorithm views your content as low quality and will consequently show it to fewer and fewer people.

50 true followers are so much more valuable to you than a billion bots 🤖

This question comes up at every workshop ...and the answer....It depends, it depends on your industry, the platforms you use and the time you have available.

Above all else try and aim for consistency ..honestly... Consistency is King 👑 !!!

Don't get me wrong ...I know how hard it is to conjure up fresh, engaging content which is why a social media content strategy & plan is SOOOO important for your sanity.

Ideally, a minimum 2-3 post a week so your posts continue to appear in the news feeds.

If you're interested in the 'social science' of WHY then read on my friends!!

🔬When someone visits their Facebook news feed, there is on average +1,500 possible posts -from friends, groups, pages and events, generated by the site's complex algorithm.

Bear in mind that only around half of Facebook users check FB daily, and when they do they spend an average of 30-60 min daily.
The likelihood of all your posts being seen and engaged with is tiny. In-fact, without paid promotion, it is all but impossible to reach a significant majority of your followers with each post.
