ALAN WAKE 2

Finally finished this year's AAA game and GOTY Nominee. Remedy's style of creating and developing games has been remarkable to me since Max Payne 1. Its mind bending horror set a new bar that Silent Hill 2 previously established. GOTY? I think it's still Spidey 2 for me but the narrative and art direction goes to Alan Wake 2.

Totally worth the wait. The beautiful story and new gameplay mechanics totally outweighed the bugs that came with this game. This was the main reason why I got a PS5 in the first place (and also the reason why I'm surviving off of biscuits 😂)

Also, the very first PS game that I got a Platinum trophy (100% completion).

11.5 hours into Starfield and here's a short review:

+ Combat/Gunfight is miles away from Fallout 4 and 76. Most guns have the feel of COD in it.
+ Every planet has it's own unique design despite some of it being desolate.
+ Every city is visually impressive
+ 95% bug free. Most are just tolerable bugs.
+ Interesting Storyline, Dialogue Trees
+ Interesting system in controlling a ship

- Overwhelming menus for those who are first timers to a Bethesda Game
- Limited option of Apparel for "style"
- No vehicular option on land
- The seamless travel and fight in space can be repetitive

There's a lot to do. There's so much more to explore. This game exceeded my expectations tbh.

4 hours in and I've barely even scratched the surface of this game.

Play it however you want it to be played but I STRONGLY suggest you join the Vanguard at the New Atlantis and go to the orientation room. You'll get the whole Starfield lore in a museum based area.

Really glad that Bethesda focused on massive single player games again. I've been a Bethesda fan boy since the release of Fallout 3 and onwards. I even played Fallout 76 despite what the critics say.

Pretty much excited about this one because I feel like I'll be playing this game for months or even years because of how vast the world and the features are.

Elden Ring is the first Soulsborne I've played from start to finish. (I played Dark Souls and Sekiro back in college. Di man lang lumagpas sa kalahati haha).

It's been a while since I've played a RPG that got me hooked with the gameplay. Sure, the lore and the storyline doesn't make sense but it will when we watch different YouTube videos and honestly, the lore is pretty good.

Finished the game? Yes.
New game +? Yes.

Again, gets ko na kung bakit siya GOTY. Sobrang well deserved.

Yawa talaga tong larong to hahahaha di ko mabitawan yung controller hangga't sa di natatalo.

Parang nakita ko na yung build na gusto ko. Pangalawang boss pa lang to pero nagsisimula palang yung laro. 🫠🫠🫠

Gets ko na kung bakit GOTY. Gameplay pa lang talaga. Ibang klaseng dedication at commitment ang kailangan talaga sa mga Soulsborne games.
Tingnan natin kung ito yung pinakaunang Soulsborne na matatapos ko.

Thoughts about Starfield First Look

- I've been a Bethesda Fan Boy since Fallout 3. I've played Fallout New Vegas, Morrowind, Oblivion, Skyrim, Fallout 4 and Fallout 76.
- The creation system (character, base/outpost, YOU CAN EVEN BUILD YOUR OWN SPACESHIP) had me. I'm excited to see how immersive it can get. Another black hole to fall into hahaha
- Facial animations have greatly improved. The conversations with NPCs gives the player with the right amount of Depth of Field to add more focus to the NPC.
- Fighting system is still a meh for me. But hey, it's Bethesda. Bullet sponges for days. I just hope there's a way that we can be stealthy.
- Maneuverability in space. May it be on foot or in a space ship. It's good.
- The gist we got from the story is average. It's always about the "what is out there?" Type of plot for this space/nasa punk themed stories but hey, we got some of the beautiful stories from their previous games.

All in all, I'm excited even if it feels like Fallout 4 mixed with No Man's Sky on 4K steroids. Looking forward to "Join the Constellation" next year!
