TLDR; Of gig contracts and hospitality riders.

The biggest professional bands have gig contracts and there's a reason for them. Aside from the standard provisions of payment terms, schedules, and other basic provisions, meron din silang technical riders and hospitality riders to ensure na maayos yung equipment and maayos yung living arrangements nila para they can perform at an optimum level.

Regarding hospitality riders, every band has unique terms/provisions based on the band's preferences kasi individual musicians have boundaries. Like say, some musicians have dietary restrictions or kelangan may personal privacy sa living quarters, kaya the respective hospitality riders of their contracts should also reflect that. Also, may mga ibang musicians na hindi masyado comfortable sa promotional aspects ng touring kaya yung iba, ayaw magpa "motorcade" or "caravan." These are all unique preferences ng bands na hango na nila sa personal experiences nila. The longer they have been in the business, the more personal - and complicated - their contracts evolve into.

If organizer/agent ka at nag book kayo ng band for an out-of-town show, basahin nyo maigi ang terms. If you feel that the band needs to do something outside their contract, talk to their management in advance. If di talaga kaya, that means that what you want to happen as an organizer is a non-negotiable for the artist/band. While disappointing, at least alam mo na ang dapat mo gawin sa event day. Wag kayo magalit if on the day of the event, may request kayo na di ma-accomodate ng artist/band. Kahit sabihin nyo pa na dadagdagan nyo bayad, some bands will say no if they think these requests are beyond their boundaries. Mga tao pa din sila. Simply throwing money at them thinking that they will comply is a huge disrespect to their profession.

My take: Musician sila and they are paid to do their music and not other way around like taking a photo with a politician. Sana pala model yung kinuha nila at hindi yung banda. 😉
