We hope to bring you more of this story in the future, but for this evening, join us in congratulating the Aquarium Sciences students at Central Campus Marine Sciences Program / Central Campus DSM for their amazing accomplishment of breeding the Lemonpeel Angelfish in their high school lab! This program continues simply amaze us, making us all want to go back to high school again!

High-school students in the heart of Iowa succeed in breeding the Lemonpeel Angelfish in the Central Campus Marine Aquarium Sciences Lab, about as far away from the ocean as one can get! It's a feat usually only accomplished by dedicated commercial efforts!

SCAM ALERT! It's come to our attention that a new website has appeared, offering insanely massive discounts on CORAL Magazine subscriptions. It even claims that these codes were used successfully, sometimes thousands of times. There is no 65% off CORAL offer in existence, nor any way that it's been used 1440 times.

The only places to order CORAL Magazine subscriptions are through our AquaticMediaPress.com website and the subscription management software we utilize, Subscription Genius. Any promotional codes or sales that we run require your purchase to be made through these channels!

If you become aware of any subscription sale offer that doesn't look legit or looks too good to be true, please don't hesitate to ask us about it at [email protected]

Seeming to stretch to the horizon, this colony of Galaxea astreata was discovered in Nusa Penida, Bali, Indonesia, and covers an area of over 4000 square meters. If confirmed through further testing, it would lay claim to the title of “World’s Largest Coral”, surpassing the recent headline-grabbing global news of a massive Pavona clavus coral discovered in the Solomon Islands. See more at

Only a few weeks after a remarkable colony of Pavona clavus, claiming the title of the world’s largest coral was found and measured in the Solomon Islands, another giant coral colony was measured in Nusa Penida, Bali, Indonesia, and discovered to be even bigger.

A proposed pet ban that would include aquarium keeping is up for vote in just a couple of days in Burlington, Vermont. This one hits a little close to CORAL's (former) home, the region where many of our staff still reside.

Burlington is considering a ban on all “exotic animals.” This ban includes fish, birds, reptiles, amphibians, small mammals, and any animal that is not specifically exempted from the definition of “exotic animal”.
