Recently, I’ve been on the Kistler Rods National Team, but today I received notice of a promotion to the next level: MVP Team. Many years ago, I was on a promotional team for another national rod manufacturer, which was good; but after moving to Texas I went all in on Texas-based in 2008. FYI. If you’re able, show up at the rally. Any public support is helpful.

As you might know, the TBN has been fighting to keep Lake Fairfield open to the public.

This afternoon we were alerted about a press conference that will be held at the Freestone County Courthouse, in Fairfield, TOMORROW, Thursday 7-6–23, at 11:00 AM.

Unfortunately, anglers and state park users who want to keep the lake public (not private) have not been specifically invited, so we feel it would be good to show the Freestone County Commissioners that we are here and want this lake kept open to the public for fishing. Remind them that we bring in significant dollars to the local and state economies, through our fishing activity. We are a multi BILLION dollar industry in Texas.

If you are able, please bring your boats/trucks to the county court house square by 11:00 AM and help us make a peaceful statement for keeping this lake open for you and future generations of anglers (our kids). Signage is encouraged but having your boats and kids there will make a huge statement for us.

Too many power plant lakes in Texas are being taken away from us. We need MORE public fisheries, NOT less. Time for us to stand up and keep this lake open as it has been for the past 50 years!
