I’m sound, not going to wrestle in A*o Rock – Tinubu

The National Leader of the All Progressives Congress and presidential aspirant of the party, Bola Tinubu, has declared that he was sound, hale and hearty for the presidential job in 2023.

He said Nigeria needed a president that would be intellectually sound with great ideas to tackle its various challenges, particularly, economic challenges, and not only by physical ability.

Tinubu stated this while addressing the delegates of the party in Ondo State at the governor’s office, Akure, the state capital, on Thursday, ahead of the presidential primary of the APC, coming up on Sunday.

Describing himself as the most experienced and capable of all the aspirants of the party, Tinubu said he moved Lagos from a state of lower revenue to a state that generates billions of naira as revenue, boasting that if he could do it for Lagos State, he could repeat it for Nigeria development, if elected as president.
He said, “I am not running for the presidency because I need money, that was past but I am running for the love I have for this country, for the love I have for my people, and my commitment to development and value for education.

“I am not looking for a wrestling job, I am not going to the presidency to fight Anthony Joshua, I’m not running to compete with Ronaldo. All I am going to use is my brain. I am sure, I am a better thinker, I am a better doer. You, delegates, should distinguish us like kerosene on top of water.

“I, Bola Tinubu, I am a runner. Go to Lagos State, I built a state of great value for Lagos, it is a reference point. I will rebuild Nigeria, I will reunite Nigeria, I will develop Nigeria. I will use our diversity for our prosperity. Join me in an effort to reunite Nigeria. You will see prosperity and performance. I know I can do it.”

Adamawa: Binani Becomes First Female Governorship Candidate, Defeats Ribadu, Bindow, Namdas, Others
Senator Ashatu Binani of the All Progressives Congress (APC) made history today, as she defeated five male contestants to pick the party’s ticket to become the first female flag bearer of any political party in Adamawa.

In a well contested APC governorship primary in Adamawa State, the serving senator representing Adamawa central defeated former EFCC boss, Nuhu Ribadu, who scored 288, former governor Bindow, who scored 103 and serving House of Representatives member, Namdas, with 94 votes; Wafari Therman and Umar Mustphar scored 21 and 39 respectively, to clinch the ticket.

Announcing the result of the primaries that lasted to the early hours of Friday, the chairman of the primaries committee, Alhaji Gambo Lawal said a total number of 1130 delegates were accredited and a total of 1011 votes were cast, while the invalid votes cast were 36

He said, “Of the total number of valid votes cast, Senator Ashatu Dahiru Binani scored 430 and having scored the highest number of votes cast, she is hereby returned as the winner of the primary election.”
