And that’s 2024!
We’re humbled by all of you who support our artists and our efforts getting them out there. We put a lot of energy into it all . . .. . . but we wouldn’t be able to do anything without the brilliance of many wonderful artists, many of whom were heroes of ours before we even met them! We’re working hard on getting 2025 going! 💥
New HOUSE Of ALL single!
We’ve just made available ‘The Good Englishman’ to stream on Bandcamp. The band’s upcoming record pierces the fabric of consciousness . . . which is to say it’s just the right thing to get you through the holidays.

If you ordered a copy of Band Of Holy Joy’s ‘Scorched Jerusalem’ before the release date was pushed back due to demand, they’re on their way. Later orders will ship in a couple of weeks.
Thanks to everyone who has supported this album and listened to it with the attention it deserves. ‘Scorched Jerusalem’ doesn’t shy away of some of the worst moments of the past few years but it also offers beauty, depth, and hope. It’s an incredible work of art we’re proud to have released.

We’re grateful to all of you for a fab 2024. We released more records than in any previous year, signed some brilliant new artists, reissued one of our favourite records of all time . . . and now we’re preparing a stellar array of new stuff for 2025.
We couldn’t do any of this without your support - buying a record, sharing and liking our posts or simply by listening to the music we put out there. We put a lot of love into each and every release, and we appreciate that you stop to listen to them!
We’re excited to start the new year with the new Band Of Holy Joy, Hellen McCookerybook, House Of All and da Googie + Cara Tivey records, and we’ll have more exciting news very soon.
We wish you a relaxing couple of weeks, and a fantastic new year!
‘Reaching for Hope’ from Helen McCookerybook’s forthcoming album is a fab tune about when friendships start to crack and we forget that “there’s something about your point of view that makes our friendship strong and true”.This song features Helen, plus Winston Blissett from #massiveattack and Gina Birch from The Raincoats, too! Showtunes from the Shadows’ is out January 17. Pre-order from: https://helenmcc.bandcamp.com/album/showtunes-from-the-shadows?label=2337015836
‘Gaudy Pop Sensations’ by HOUSE Of ALL is our first release of BBC material, and it arrives thanks to Marc Riley, Gideon Coe and their 6Music team.
By the time HOA recorded the two sessions gathered here, the group had a fair amount of time playing live and rehearsing, so you can hear these amazing ‘alternative’ versions of songs from their two albums, plus two remixes and a live version of The Fall’s “Lay Of The Land” and a booklet with an intro from Martin Bramah and a great essay from Paul Hanley.
We’re down to the last copies, so get yours now.

Four years ago we released three Jon Langford 7” singles at once, and ‘Losers’ was one of them.
It’s too depressing that it’s relevant *again*, but let’s hope the USA is only a week away from making Trump loser yet again.
Good Americans, go vote!
Helen McCookerybook’s new album (her first solo lp on vinyl) is loaded with charming vignettes recalling the innocence of pastoral post-punk pop.
Start off your weekend with charm so ‘The Ginger Line’ is what you need to hear! You can hear the whole song here:

Jon Langford penned the words in this GW Sok & Oma piece. The Aberfan disaster was the most traumatic event in Wales for a generation.
“A bitter memorial to these innocent victims of human greed and neglect.”
We honour them today, 58 years on.
Scorched Jerusalem
Complex and haunting, yet oddly immediate, Band Of Holy Joy’s ‘Scorched Jerusalem’ is their most crucial work to date and likely this year’s most topical album.

Check out David Lance Callahan’s new single ‘The Spirit World’ on Bandcamp!
With a mood taken from Hilary Mantel's Beyond Black, David Lance Callahan describes the populace of an England of the mind, a fragrant idyll where it is forever a perfect spring 1960, aided and abetted by a sideshow combo feel starring regular drummer Daren Garratt, The Clientele's Mel Draisey on violin and harmonies, PJ Harvey's Terry Edwards as one-man Sally Army band, and Cathy Gerbrands on musical saw. The people are in a heaven – but are they living or dead?
‘Down To The Marshes’ is released on September 29th, and for a limited time you’ll receive a lyric booklet with your LP (or CD) featuring the beautiful art piece ‘The Wanderer’ by Kit Boyd.
If you’re in London you can go see David TOMORROW (Aug 14th) at the Lexington, opened by Stewart Lee! Tickets, however, are scarce.
Edinburgh folks will have a chance to catch him on September 6th at Leith Depot, with special guest, the amazing Helen McCookerybook!
