The Library was organized in October 1981 for the purpose of acquiring from Cinema Centre Films (a syndicator of feature films) a substantial portion of Cinema Centre's assets for the domestic Television and Cable syndication market. ership agreement with Viacom and Gill Cable for the establishment of the Classic Movie Channel, programmed 24 hours a day in the San Francisco Bay area for approximately three years. During the years of the Classic Movie Channel venture, the Allied Group has acquired a massive amount of PD and Non PD tiles to support the need for the a constant flow of new programs to for its Classic Movie Channel cable service. Since that time, the Allied Group’s s primary activities have been the domestic and worldwide distribution, production and archival preservation of motion pictures and our offices assisted the Library to extend its pictures. Allied has extended the Library’s market to in a variety of directions over the past several in the last couple of years In Asia, they Allied has have become the key suppliers of US product for the Asian Movie Channel network, CCTV, Cartoon Network in Japan and numerous other TV- cable channels. Our programs are running on the English, Swedish, German, and Italian and on several other and central European, Asian and Middle Eastern cable channels as well as all the key digital platforms, such as Netflix, Amazon and Hulu. Severals documentray productions produced by our company are best sellers in all the retail chains in the United States and popular releases in 37 countries. As the vast majority of the titles in Library are not in current distribution, the Library also functions as a major motion picture archive, and an organization dedicated to film preservation, and an important international cultural and educational resource.
