There's a lot of media buzz about the Presidential Medal of Freedom as the current presidential term ends in the United States. 🇺🇲 According to wh.gov, "the Presidential Medal of Freedom is the Nation’s highest civilian honor, presented to individuals who have made exemplary contributions to the prosperity, values, or security of the United States, world peace, or other significant societal, public or private endeavors." We only found opera singers who received this award through the years.🤯

Seokjong Baek has an excellent reputation being talented and dependable in dramatic tenor roles. He performed both Calaf and Cavaradossi...so we know he's up for the challenge. Toi, toi, toi...🎶❤️😃

As we close 2024, we look at partnerships opera companies have with artists outside of the traditional opera industry. Partnerships symbolize how opera companies are trying to branch out in order to raise money and donors for the company. Andrea Bocelli proves that you don't have to use the traditional path to sing with opera companies if you build an empire yourself. Bocelli had three key partnerships this year: a sold-out concert with Opera Carolina and two broadcasts/concerts promoting his latest album through the MET and Santa Fe Opera.
