Just want to take time to celebrate one of the GREATEST BLESSINGS of my life. I’ve been privileged to have had a backstage pass to the epic production that is her life for the past 32 years! Today is a great day indeed as this world has been blessed by 49 years of her presence. Please help me celebrate the birthday of LaToya Nowlin Perry the wife of my life, queen of our clan, & caretaker of my heart. You’re a STUNNING example of womanhood, motherhood, wifey hood?! 🤷🏾 😂 I adore you baby. I really REALLY DO!! Thank you for choosing me to be the witness of YOU!

Today is the day we pay final tribute to my FIRST GREAT LOVE AFFAIR. She was the brightest star in my universe and the cornerstone of our family. She had me when she was just a 15 year old girl on the south side of Chicago and against all odds and with faith in God built a life admired & respected by all who knew her.

I just want to REALLY Thank all of you for all of the condolences and words of comfort.

I’ll be taking the next two weeks off to grieve properly, recenter, and just be with family as I learn to adjust to my world minus my greatest cheerleader and staunchest critic. And when I return It’ll be with the consistency and grit that she modeled with dignity, grace, & an unmatched beauty.

This is quite possibly the single greatest crossroads moment of my life & I promised to do her legacy justice in my efforts.
I’ll love and miss you EVERY SINGLE DAY Momma until I see you again in glory.

Momma, You were the first person I ever saw draw. You put the pencil in my hands and said “your turn son”. You were my FIRST GREAT LOVE AFFAIR. You taught us how to love God and others. You’ve served on the front lines with dignity, beauty, and Grace and you fought to the end. And though I’m now forced to live in a world without you, My world has just turned few shades grayer & colors just don’t seem bright as they once were. Thank you for loving me with all you had momma. Rest in glory.
