The City of Wolverhampton Brass Band
With heavy hearts, we must announce that the City of Wolverhampton Brass Band has sadly played its final notes.
Brass bands across the country have struggled for players over the past few years, and this has hit us particularly hard. Despite the best efforts of the band and committee, the challenges of finding new players have made it impossible for us to continue.
Our band has been a part of Wolverhampton’s musical heritage for over fifty years, performing at countless events and bringing the joyous sounds of brass music to our community.
We have performed at everything from the parks summer programme, remembrance services, Proms and Christmas concerts, to playing on the pitch at Molineux, starting contesting once more, and the hugely successful run of “Brassed Off” shows at Wolverhampton Grand Theatre. We are incredibly proud of our history and the memories we’ve created together, but all good things eventually come to an end.
To every past member, supporter and audience member, and our wonderful landlords at Busy Buildings: thank you. Your passion and dedication have kept us going through the years, and we’ll forever treasure your contributions.
Our story will remain a part of Wolverhampton’s history. Though this is the end, the music and memories will always live on.
