About BlueHouse Records and Sound Studios

BlueHouse Records and Sound Studios was born in Elora, Ontario, Canada at the cusp of Y2K. Although many sessions preceded that date, it was not until a name had to be conjured up to go with a Christmas CD release by Kimberly Wideman that it became known as BlueHouse Records. The artwork was ready, so in the interest of simplicity and time constraints, it was named in accordance with the blue house in the country that the studio was in. And so became BlueHouse Records.

After a dozen or so sessions, friend and mentor of BlueHouse Records, Alan Argue, suggested a logo and a bit more description of the business; and so became BlueHouse Records and Sound Studios.

BHRSS (BlueHouse Records and Sound Studios) became known for smaller, unique, and one -off projects. It also became known as a place where creation and fruition of musical ideas was a passion that surpassed the very reasonable rates needed to keep the mic’s hot and lights on.

In 2006, after twenty-three projects, BHRSS relocated to near the Twin Cities in the U.S. From there, the studio has grown yet retains it’s ‘small’ feel and personalized touch. The catalog of quality backing tracks has grown to over 1500 songs, and live studio musicians are always on-hand or nearby for any project.
