Previously as The Scooter Rag, The Harley Happenings and the All American Motorcycle Newsletter. I cut my teeth as a contributor at magazines such as Easyriders and Biker Lifestyle before working full time at the Texas Scooter Times starting in 1981. Though our features and look has remained much the same, our format has changed over the years. From tabloid to magazine, back to tabloid, then to mi
ni-tab and then color magazine in 2005 and then all color magazine in 2007. At the end of '07 we had about 8000 subscribers nationwide and were carried in over 250 Motorcycle shops and stores across the country. up until that time AAMM and it's predecessors were free to subscribers and at the counters, supported solely by advertisers. Since that time the economy and the cost of printing and mailing has taken it's toll on us as it has the entire publishing industry. We have been published online, available on our website since that time. download issues on our facebook main page or by joining for free on our website. Over the last couple of years we have been contacted by many previous subscribers and those who have found us on the web. Overwhelmingly you have told us that you prefer a paper magazine that you can hold in your hands, leave around the house and shops and bathrooms, to read, gaze and gander at and stash away for later. We prefer it too. The goal here is to return to a fully printed and mailed subscription call color mag, available at outlets as well. It's not going to happen as a free mag, supported by ads tho. We need your support. We have determined that we can provide a minimum 48 pages in all color 6 times a year (with less than 25% ads), if we had 4500 subscribers at $21 per year ($3.50 p/issue). We could also provide a minimum of 20 magazines bimonthly to retailers for $35 per 20. We have moved our efforts into facebook to grow our website and our reader base to try and achieve those kinds of numbers. In the meantime, we will increase publishing frequency as well as our features per issue. Like our page, download back issues, and let us know you will support us. For those budding photographers, artists, storytellers among you, we are always looking for feature material so contact us if you have something to submit.
