"Findings showed that as students moved between locations, they also transited across devices, platforms, and formats, making use of different print and digital resources for varied ways of reading. Their ability to ‘style-shift’ flexibly across the boundaries of school and personal spaces, various devices and platforms allowed them to independently optimise reading as a resource for their everyday leisure, information seeking, and learning purposes."

Juggling formats of print vs. digital for books, have developers simply given up on whether there's room to improve navigation and design?

For book business lovers! An exceptional, pencil-signed etching by Albert Geudens, of the original book printing press of the Christophe Plantin printing house in Antwerp, Belgium, home to the two oldest book printing presses in the world. Plantin (c. 1520-89) was arguably the most highly regarded printer and publisher of his time, and his family successfully continued his printing business for several generations. The Plantin-Moretus printing establishment in Antwerp, Belgium, became a museum and is now a UNESCO World Heritage site. Measuring 11.5" x 9" sight and 17.5" x 15" in a simple, aged, wood frame, matte, and behind glass, it is in very good condition for a work well over 100 years old. Note the water stains (see attached photos) in three corners of the matte, none of which impact the integrity of the work or the author signature.

Albert Geudens (January 3, 1869 in Mechelen–March 28, 1949 in Schaerbeek) was a Belgian portrait and genre painter, etcher, watercolorist, pastelist and draughtsman. He was born to painter Jean François Geudens and Anne-Maria-Ludwina (née Polspoel) Geudens.

Geudens was a student of Willem Geets at the Mechelen Academy of Fine Arts from 1890-1891. He continued his studies at the Koninklijke Academie voor Schone Kunsten van Antwerpen with Albrecht De Vriendt. Geudens mainly painted views of Mechelen and interiors of churches and béguinages (architectural complexes for lay religious communities), as well as bourgeois salons and portraits. He repeated the same themes in his etchings. He exhibited at art salons in Brussels, Antwerp, Liège, Barcelona and Venice. Geudens married Fernande Jeanne (née Warnie) Geudens on October 31, 1908 in Brussels, Belgium. He died on March 28, 1949 in Schaerbeek (Brussels), Belgium.

Though multiple works by Geudens have come to auction since the late 90s, almost all are oil on canvas. None are etchings, making this an unique and rare work. His oils and other paintings have hammered for prices to $3,556 and average $5.76 per sq. inch.
