Interview with Renaldo M/ Brian Poole- regarding his Thirty-years-in-the-works solo album They Blessed The Body Breadcrumbered on Klanggalerie. The album stands as one of the late highlights of last year being a wonderful varied & unpredictable thirteen-track affair - which moves between urgent & ethnically odd, through to the percussive & quirky, onto the manic and unsettling, though to the charming & tuneful, to sinisterly disquieting.

He is one-one-half of the British avant-pop/(off) world music duo Renaldo and the Loaf- who have been peddling their strange sonic wares since the late ’70s.

About Musique Machine

Musique Machine is a non-profit & proudly ad-free music/media webzine- that’s been running since 2001. We post around six to eight new reviews a week, as well as at least one interview/ article per month. And over the years we've had more high profile interview with the likes of Japanese noise legend #Merzbow, respected & prolific Spanish sound artists #Francisco #López’, English ethno-ambient originator #rappon, Anchocist -punk legend #Steve #Ignorant( ex #crass), & respected doom-mister & #Sunn O))) member #Stephen #O’Malley. As well as a host of more obscure artists, who have had the exclusive interviews with the site.

Since its start, the site has strived to review all manner of genres of music/sound, been one of the most eclectic music/ sound sites on the internet. Where else can you find death metal, sitting alongside long-form ambient music, outsider pop music, blends of space rock & heavy metal, dense walls of noise, occult folk, and avant jazz?

In more recent years we’ve adding reviews of cult & horror films, as well as books & related media- to try & expand our focus & coverage even further. . Throughout it has been virtual & important for the site to remain ad-free- as the type of stuff we cover & feature is often very artists based, in small pressings, and extremely niche. So advertising would be both detrimental to the freeness of the ethos of the site, and of course who really wants to look at ads for skinny designer jeans, flashy cars, big corporations- when reading about edgy, odd, and weird sounds & visuals?
