-Files should be in the following formats: .doc, .docx, .rtf
-Files should be named as the title of the piece and the genre only (e.g. Moc
kOrange_poetry.doc).
-Do not put your name anywhere in the document. -Do not put your name in the file's name. We read blind, so that our editors do not know the name of the contributor.
-Include a brief bio in the body of your email (NOT in your submission document file) maximum 150 words. How you write your bio is up to you, but remember to keep it professional and as polished as your submission. If your submission is accepted for publication, your bio will be included in the magazine. Bios may be edited.
-Indicate the genre your piece fits into. For example, prose poetry, flash fiction, micro fiction, noir, short fiction, nonfiction, etc.
-All prose and poetry should be double spaced and in a standard font such as Times New Roman or Arial.
-Ensure your submission has been thoroughly edited for spelling and grammar so that it represents your best work possible. We follow the standards of the Chicago Manual of Style 16th edition and Merriam-Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary.

-A professional-quality photograph should be taken of your artwork and submitted as a .jpg minimum 300 dpi. Consider presentation when taking your photograph. For example, if you are taking a photo of your painting, be sure it’s not angled and is cropped appropriately. If you are taking a photo of your sculpture, choose a simple background free from clutter such as furniture and doorways. Photograph using natural or natural-colored lighting to preserve the integrity of your colors. Ensure your image is free of glares that will make it hard to see your work.

-Indicate the medium your artwork is in. For example, “oil paint on canvas” or “felt, buttons, cotton thread and polyfil in sculpture format.”
-If your work is chosen for the cover, we may need to alter the dimensions in order to accommodate the cover format. If you do not want to be considered for the cover, please indicate that in the body of your email submission. Once you have professionally prepared your submission, email it to [email protected]. Don’t forget to include your bio in the body of your email!
