The official literary magazine of Southern New Hampshire University! Assignment is a literary magazine published annually by Southern New Hampshire University.

It's so named because, in addition to short stories and essays by established and up-and-coming authors, and interviews, it will include creative writing assignments, i.e. exercises, generated by the contributors. Said assignments might be as conventional as, "Write a story entirely in dialogue," or as unconventional as, "Walk across Europe." Each issue will also feature the winner of the annual c

ontest for students of SNHU's Master in Fine Arts program. Our first issue features new fiction from BOOK OF NUMBERS author Joshua Cohen and WHAT'S IMPORTANT IS FEELING author Adam Wilson. There's an essay by Adrienne Raphel and an interview with Kate Christensen. Issue #2 will be released in Spring 2016. Assignment is not accepting unsolicited submissions at this time.

Welcome to the editorial team, Tom!!

Thomas Wilkins is a writer from New Jersey who found himself in the mountains of New Hampshire. He is a father of two cats, Willow and Goose. His freetime is spent dreaming, cooking, or gaming with friends. With a degree in Creative Writing from Southern New Hampshire University Thomas is pursuing his MFA at the Mountain View Low-Residency. There he writes about the fringe side of being human, hopefully shining a light on those who would be ignored otherwise. He joined Assignment Literary Magazine to help other artists get their vision out into the world, one submission at a time.
