FA is set to sell off England's national stadium for £500m to billionaire owner of Fulham and Jacksonville Jaguars who wants to bring his NFL franchise to UK. . . and force England on the road
The Football Association are on the verge of selling Wembley Stadium in an astonishing £800million deal. Shahid Khan (left), the billionaire owner of Fulham Football Club and the NFL's Jacksonville Jaguars, has tabled a formal offer that was being discussed for the first time by the FA board this morning. Khan, who is worth an estimated £5.2billion, is prepared to pay more than £500m in cash and allow the FA to keep the Club Wembley debenture and hospitality business that is valued at a further £300m. If Khan were successful, it would open the door to the first NFL franchise outside the United States. Officials are now examining how to recoup some of the £41million taxpayer's money invested in the stadium and the £120million put in by Lottery-funded Sports England.

We're safe, Mum! Delighted orangutan hugs its mother as they are released into the jungle after being saved from deadly encounter with farmers
This is the heartwarming moment a baby orangutan hugs its mother after conservationists saved the pair from a potentially 'deadly' encounter with local farmers in Indonesia. Ris and her baby Riska had been straying dangerously close to a plantation in the Ketapang district of Indonesian Borneo in search of food. Deforestation and devastating fires had destroyed vast swathes of the forest where they were living, forcing them to search for food on farmed lands. However, this could have cost them their lives, as farmers are known to have killed orangutans who have destroyed crops in the past.
'Shoot me in the head': Terrifying moment Toronto van killer claims to have a gun and begs cops to open fire, just seconds after the 25-year-old tech expert drove for a mile along pavement at 70mph, killing 10 and injuring 15
Footage has emerged showing an intense standoff between a Toronto police officer and the suspect behind the horror van rampage that left 10 dead and 15 injured. The video shows the suspect, identified as 25-year-old Alek Minassian, pointing an object at police on the street after getting out of a white van on Monday afternoon. The officer can be heard repeatedly shouting: 'Get down or you'll be shot' as the suspect continued to wave around the object. Moments later the footage, which was shot by a witness in a nearby car, shows the suspect lying face-down on the sidewalk as the police officer handcuffs him. Speaking at a news conference Monday night, Toronto Police Chief Mark Saunders raised the initial death toll of nine to 10, saying another victim had died at a hospital. He said 15 others were hospitalized. Police said the suspect had not been known to police previously. Asked if there was any evidence of a connection to international terrorism, the police chief said: 'Based on what we have there's nothing that has it to compromise the national security at this time.'
