Parris Macleod:
Born in England to a musical family, Parris started playing piano at the age of four. He spent his childhood and youth experimenting with all aspects of music, giving his first public piano recital at the Cambri
dge University May Ball at the age of 12 and going on to perform with numerous bands in and around London. Parris migrated to Australia in 1985 and in 1987, at 19 years of age, he built his first recording studio(Cloud Studios,www.cloudstudios.com). Over the years, and several studios later, he has developed his music and production skills and has established himself as one of Australia’s finest recording producers, engineers, composer’s, arranger’s and multi-instrumentalist. Parris has performed live at venues and festivals around the world from London to New York, Nashville, New Orleans, Singapore and Taiwan. He has performed at The Basement in Sydney, Tamworth Country Music Festival, Byron Bay "bluesfest",Woodford Folk Festival, International Glass Festival (GLART) in Taiwan, Bellingen Global Carnival, Goulburn Blues Festival, Broadbeach Blues festival, Yungaburra Folk Festival and WOMADelaide 2004 with Mark Atkins, and as a guest at the All Star Concert conducted by master percussionist " Zakir Hussain. His work touches the heart, and leads audiences along a journey of emotions. His passion and special touch pours outstanding vitality and depth into his music, which can easily be heard in his own live performances and on his studio recordings. Parris has been nominated 4 times for Best Instrumental in the Golden Guitar Awards at the Tamworth Country Music Festival, and has won Producer Of The Year at the 2007 Australian Blues (Chain) Awards for the Bluezone album The Sweetest And Most Perfect Things, Australasian,Piano and Keyboard Player Of The Year at the 2007 Bluestar People's Choice Awards and Producer Of The Year at the 2008 Australian Blues (Chain) Awards for "" Gail Page's album Colours That Run. As a musician, Parris is known as "keyboard player to the stars" appearing with: Phil Emmanuell,, Jimmy Buffett, Kevin Borich, Mal Eastick, The Screaming Jets, Chain, Joe Robinson, Dyvinals, Andrew Clermont, Mark Atkins, Gail Page, Bluezone, The Thomas Brothers, Doc Span, Doug Parkinson, Chase The Sun, Darren Jack Band, Andrew Clermont, Mark Atkins, The Groove, and many more! As a recording producer and or Engineer Parris has either recorded, mixed and mastered (in most cases all three) albums in his own studio for:
The Screaming Jets, Troy Cassar Dailey, Doug Parkinson, Genevieve Chadwhick, Bluezone, Gail Page, The Choir Boys, The Teletubbies, Andrew Clermont, Mark Atkins, just to name a few. Today Parris is living in Queensland where he has set up a new facility in the beautiful Sunshine coast. His house and studio are set up in the trees deep in the forest of the Diamond Valley.
