Highly recommend their Classic Cheese Burger - super juicy and flavourful

If you are around Selegie area, do check them out. They are located inside the revamp Grid mall (next to parklane)

First time trying this bistro bar at Jalan Besar.

1. Garlic Prawn Risotto - was ok. A little underwhelming on taste. 5/10⭐️

2. Salmon steak - good portion, wellseasoned, but the tangy sauce was . 6.5/10⭐️

3. Truffle Pizza + Prawn Asparagus Pizza - the truffle pizza was the highlight of the night, flavourful and you get a mouthful of mushrooms on every bite. 8/10⭐️

Service wise was 😑, waitress was playing drinking games with another table of drunk loud uncles.

Return to visit? Not at the moment, better options just nearby.

One of the best Garlic Prawn Risotto + scallops & caviar .sg, we loved how flavourful the rice was, and the grilled prawns was really fresh and juicy! Sucked those umami juice right out of the prawn heads 🦐

Damage for this dish was only $20 🤫 an absolute must try.

I guess this will be my regular hangout along balestier.

Are Omakase worth it?

That’s the big question every single time we step into a new Japanese restaurant. You have to trust the chef, and expect to get best of every thing he has to offer.

Safe to say, this new establishment by ZOUK was absolutely WORTH IT.

Headed by Chef , we had an unforgettable dinner experience with every dish exceeding our expectations.

Chef Ryoichi carefully examine each ingredient that he places on the dishes, each serving a gastronomic purpose rather than just aesthetically pleasing.

One of the highlights for us, is the ‘ankimo’ also known as the monkfish liver.

None of the fishy taste and just 100% umami, may we dare say, it’s even better than the fresh Uni ;)

Will we be back?

You can bet your bottom dollar that it has become one of our favourite places in town.

In all honesty, past experiences with fusion food has left us not wanting more,

especially nowadays where everyone is mixing Japanese with something is commonplace.

Intrigued by the reviews online, we did an impromptu visit last night to the newly opened MEZCLA restaurant,

First impression, the ambience was nicely done, a pity there couldn’t be music, else it would have been even better!

The mini margaritas came very quickly upon order, in a set of 3 shot glasses. Didn't leave much of an impression taste wise.

The tacos on average costs $13, where as the most premium taco (Uni & Scallops) will set you back a good $33.

Grown ass man will need about 3-4 tacos to be full. The tacos are 2 mouth full each.

We were considering the fresh live oysters or this, but ultimately we let the server decide for us 🤘🏻

All in all, it was delicious! The sweet oysters release their juices to blend with the gratin into a pool of joy under the jade colored seaweed crust. 🦪

Wasn’t too impressed by the Beef Wellington when bread street first opened in Singapore, we tried it a few times over the years as it ultimately didn’t live up to our expectations each occasion.

Till now.

We tried it again recently and my god, it blew our mind away, the beef Wellington was PERFECT. 🤯

Every single bite we had, was creating a rush of umami, the combination was of the puff pastry, the beef fillet, the mushroom filling and the sauce, all came together in a perfect harmony and balance.✨

It was definitely the highlight of the night.

The cosy restaurant only have 8 seats in total as Chef Kenji wants each guest to experience the joy of eating fresh premium sashimi and sushi while having conversations with the chef.

Currently due to the limited seatings, the restaurant is only taking private bookings.
