A throwback to last winter when we made mlinci at my Mum's house, using an outdoor furnace with a hot plate.
In loving memory of my Mum's dog Beba who crossed the rainbow bridge at the ripe age of 16. You are missed, little girl.

What's your favorite winter snack? Something to keep your warm and satisfied but still healthy?

The best feeling is when I can make my friends happy with the desserts I bake for the new cookbook.

Just look at the happy face of my friend. He comes every day to our local cafe to get a dose of sweetness.

Our entire neighbourhood has put on weight since the baking marathon started 2 months ago…

Ever tried bobići (or favete)? These little balls of sweetness are a true Dalmatian delight, especially around All Saints’ Day. 🍬

In Split, they’re called bobići, while in Šibenik, you’ll hear favete — but whatever the name, they’re closest to the Italian fave dei morti cookies.

Made from almonds, egg whites, sugar, a dash of Maraschino, and a hint of lemon zest, they’re baked to soft perfection. Half of them remain white while the other half has added chocolate. Perfect with a cup of coffee or even a little rakija to balance the sweetness! ☕🥃

And here’s a treat for you: this recipe will be in my upcoming cookbook, Croatian Desserts Vol. 2, currently in the making! 🍰📖 Stay tuned!
