The Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest, Ely Ranger District is actively suppressing, with a modified tactic, the estimated five-acre Broom Canyon Fire on Currant Mountain in the Currant Mountain Wilderness, about nine miles east of Duckwater or 60 miles southwest of Ely, Nev. Smoke may occasionally be visible to residents of Currant, Duckwater and surrounding area and motorists on U.S. Highway 6. The naturally caused fire was first reported at approximately 8 p.m., Monday, July 29.

Many of you may of heard about this vandalism that took place. Unfortunately this theft and vandalism will affect their business. After talking to them i will be posting their Venmo in the comments. I have informed them that this act is not the Ely Way, and the majority of us are givers, respectful and appreciative of the events and vendors who come here. Let's help them replace what was lost.

If anyone in the Ely area sees someone with 4 tables all of a sudden; here’s a description.
(A police report has already been made.)

One of the 4ft tables has S.Z written on it.
The other 3 have paint splatter on the tables, from my art classes that I host..
my other 4ft table had a bunch of wire wrapped around the inner leg as well.

I’m going to replace my tables as soon as I get back to Elko, so I can keep my classes going ❤️❤️❤️❤️

As for the vandalized canopy, I’ll just have to save up & get a new one eventually. Until I can get a new canopy all vendor events are on hold.

My store will be open on July 31st if you’d like to see what I have left from the powwow. 🖤

I really appreciate everyone’s support & kind words to keep my spirits up..

I will be posting pictures online as well if anyone not in the area is interested in any items..

This is my only job.. so it really sucks to be targeted like this. I’m a new beader.. new business, just barely starting out.. I don’t understand what I did to deserve this.

The 1,100-acre North Creek Fire is 100-percent contained tonight. The human-caused fire, 50 miles northeast of Ely, Nev., was first reported at approximately 4:25 p.m., Sunday, July 7.

The 1,100-acre North Creek Fire is 95-percent contained with full containment expected Sunday, July 14. Fire behavior remains minimal and firefighters are mopping up and finishing dozer line rehabilitation. The human-caused fire, 50 miles northeast of Ely, Nev., was first reported at approximately 4:25 p.m., Sunday, July 7. A Red Flag Warning is in effect throughout Lincoln, White Pine and northern Nye counties until late Sunday or early Monday morning. Residents can expect dry thunderstorms and gusting winds. If you see smoke, call 775-289-1925 or 911.

Firefighters continue suppression efforts, districtwide. This evening, they have a line around and are suppressing a 2.5-acre fire of undetermined origin near Connors Pass southeast of Ely and this morning were mopping up an approximately eight-acre, lightning-ignited fire in and outside the Tunnel Springs Wilderness, east of Beaver Dam State Park.

The North Creek Fire is 90-percent contained. Full containment of the fire located 50 miles northeast of Ely, Nev., is expected Sunday, July 14.



Fire behavior is minimal, i.e., creeping and smoldering. Crews and engines continue mopping up and rehabilitating dozer lines. The public is asked to stay out of the fire area until the fire is fully contained and controlled.



Assisting the BLM Ely District are the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest, Ely Ranger District and private contractors.
