Happy Friday everyone! This is a record I really love, featuring Garnet Garnett Cross aka Sgt Pepper on vocals. I Have a few vinyls of this left. Sgt Pepper also a great musician and songwriter, was one of the original Ariwa posse, with Mad Professor back in the 80s. Great to colaborate on this.

Track 7 with dub from the Arise album with Izyah Davis, this track got a dubstep remix by Marlow back when that was the sounds in the clubs in 2009, the original rididm was called Butterfish

This track binghi riddim played by Dubheart which featured a few different singers over the years. This was the dub I did for the mental slavery album in 2015 with a great video montage and spoken word blend added by our friend Marcus Axe, it capturing the trouble and oppression that Jamaica has experienced over the modern times.

Greetings and love to all! This was the first 7” release on the new Karnatone label… Wayne McArthur - blessings to you and family! - came to voice the song with me in my new studio set up. I had intended to call the studio Corner Stone, but found another studio with same name, so decided Corner Tone…. Wayne came in and pronounced it Karna Tone in a Yardie accent, so it stuck!! He felt like it reminded him of the old sound Tippa Tone.
He came to voice this rididm, originally with a completely different song, we got set up to record and I had to quickly go out to pick up my kids from school…. And when I got back Wayne had come up with a whole new song idea thinking about my walk up to get the children… Walk of Life.
This is also why the B side label had my two young children walking up the road ❤️ 💛 💚

The 5th track from the Arise album with Izyah Davis - Babylon System, as with all the tracks, the dub version follows.
This riddim also got licensed by Sama Roots label a few years later, and was remixed by Nick Manasseh, featuring Ghetto Priest and Rootsamala, and horns and dub cuts and pressed on two 7” vinyl…. Check that out In link below.

Around 2008 most of the tracks on this album were composed as single riddims and dubs, when I passed them to Izyah Davis to play as dubplates on his Birmingham based Hytal Bosrah Sound in around 2009 he called me next day and said he was gonna voice them all, and not long after we had the first LP to release, came out on vinyl and CD in 2010. Big respect and thanks to Izyah who helped take this music further with his vocals and it was a big part in moving me ahead to start properly releasing my music.

This is the title track of the album Arise. The first dub I made available of this featured my daughter aged 3 giving me a shout out on the mic.

Bless! Finally making a start to upload my back catalogue of releases in bandcamp, and will start uploading new releases soon too, hard copies are available where I have them. Just starting with the first releases from 2010…. Featuring great singers, Izyah Davis on the LP Arise and Wayne McArthur on single Walk of Life.
