Something about last week was beautiful!

Although plagued with anxiety and frustrations, God found ways to place me in spaces that allowed for me to truly flourish, smile and for the first time since my mom passed (June 4 2024) I let out a genuine smile.

When I look at this picture & remembering this moment I am like “I am truly in a season of trusting God not knowing where He is, what He is doing, not feeling His presence - mme ene o teng!”

And this to just show my undying gratitude for EVERYTHING!

The opportunities
The little kisses and hugs
My community - oh what a community

I had the pleasure of moderating a panel discussion for Mebala Youth Studios about Women in Music. A beautiful concept thought up by Nicole Martinez BW, Abigail Olebogeng & Neo Katse advocating for change, for women in the music space in terms of inclusivity & visibility.

The beautiful thing of this initiative is that it started off with the question, “What are the challenges that women face in breaking ground in the industry” - they went straight to the point!

A lot was unpacked but also solutions were brought up.
I met amazing stakeholders and powerhouses in the game, women that have inspired and shaped who I am & new faces with amazing talent.

We unpack healing from Baby Daddy/ Baby Mother wounds and child abuse. A situation where the mother or father unleashes their resentment and anger on the child because they are a constant reminder of a hurtful past they want to forget, that is, the failed relationship with the father or mother of the child.

The circulating post on TikTok about a child that took his own life because he could no longer bear of the constant abuse from his mother about him the reason why his father (her partner) left, really broke my heart. Everyday she would tell him he is the reason her life was the way it is.
