Greetings All ~
Here's a pre-show preview during the Siegel Schwall Band setup prior to the live filming at the Mayne Stage on Friday, December 21st, 2012 with Corky Siegel & Sam Lay having some fun on stage.
Sorry I couldn't make the party, but I was producing the live filming and BTW, many EARS members were part of the audio, video and venue crew! A good thing for EARS.
This is a video short documented by Creative Director Dan Christmas from Lakeffekt on his iPhone nonetheless! In Dan's own words:
"Sam Lay - Born March 20, 1935 in Birmingham, Alabama
In the mid 1960s, Sam Lay joined the Paul Butterfield Blues Band and recorded and toured extensively with them. Bob Dylan, with Sam Lay as his drummer, was the first performer to introduce electric-rock at the Newport Folk Festival in 1965. Sam Lay also recorded with Dylan, most notably on the Highway 61 Revisited album.
"One of my all time favorite Dylan albums."
I had the pleasure of meeting Sam and Corky at the Mayne Stage Holiday Event. During the pre-production setups, I shot this video with my iPhone of musical moments with them doing tune-up jams on piano and guitar. Then Sam played a great Johnny Cash tune on guitar.
My long time friend Reid Hyams and I teamed up to create this Audio-Video Show at The Mayne with GM, Joe Prino less than one week before the show on December 21, 2012. It was a magical Blues music moment in Chicago." R__d
