New episode available!

On this episode Alyson Premo very openly takes us through her journey to sobriety. Alyson knows firsthand the challenges that can accompany living alcohol free in social settings and created a community and coaching business to help support Moms who want to live a sober life or are even just curious about what it means. I truly believe this is an important conversation and is in no way meant to come with any judgement or nudging anyone to live a sober lifestyle (personal note, I do not live my life alcohol free). Instead, I hope this episode brings forth topics that are not often discussed and perhaps helps a Mama along the way.

Highlights from the show include:

✨ Alyson’s personal story of her journey to becoming now 4 1/2 years sober
✨ Breaking free from the “Mommy needs a drink” culture
✨ Reducing the stigma and judgement that comes with choosing to be sober in social situations
✨ Making changes doesn’t have to be all or nothing - self checking your relationship with alcohol

In my conversation with Somer .life.coach she talks about the importance of trying gratitude to responsibilities. I loved this point of building this into the foundation of encouraging kids to take care of their things. We also talk about how this can reach far beyond taking care of your toys (think friendships, relationships, community, health).

Lots of great tips and framework on encouraging responsibility from a young age. Episode available wherever you get your podcasts.

When Rosalie’s oldest son was four years old he was attacked by the family dog which resulted in the amputation of his leg. I am so honored to have her on the podcast to share her son, and their family’s, story and their journey over the years since the incident.

Part of our conversation was around our responsibility as parents to teach our children about differences - people who look different, act different, those who are disabled and that disabled is not a bad word.

I can’t wait to share the whole conversation - available Thursday wherever you get your podcasts!

Sweaty and unfiltered. One of the things that helps me reset, feel grounded and clear my head is trying to get some kind of exercise in.

The past few days have been a bit challenging with overtired and emotional kids which in turn creates some behavior challenges. Parenting is no joke am I right?

Whether it’s finding 10 mins somewhere in the day to journal or sit in silence, go for a walk, exercise, talk with a friend, finding your reset button can be so helpful.

When kids and work and responsibilities overwhelm and create stress, what helps you reset?

Giving birth is a transformational, extraordinary experience unmatched by any other.

What is also quite exceptional is that no two birth stories are exactly the same.

What I love so much about creating and producing the podcast is learning and talking to mothers and experts that I might otherwise never have met. Tomorrow is just one example of this when I share my conversation with all about birth story listening.

What on earth is birth story listening?! It is a modality to address, uncover and process your birth experience. Whether you are a mama in waiting, new mom or about to be a mama for the second, third, fourth or beyond time, birth story listening can be a powerful tool.

Episode drops tomorrow, can’t wait to share it- please let me know what you think!

How is my baby 18 months old?! We just returned from her 18 month checkup where she clung to me as her protector in an unfamiliar place. All three of my kids have been very attached and “clingy” at the toddler age. Emery perhaps especially as she has rarely been left with a caregiver outside myself or her grandparents.

As they say the days and weeks can feel very long. As she settles into her toddler years, there are some tantrums, big feelings, learning words and learning to express herself and trying to assert herself amongst her siblings. All of these challenging milestones aside, how quickly time is passing. I want to bottle it up and savor it all. When I feel exhausted and like my kids can’t possibly say “mama” in need of me any more times in one day I have to remember how quickly time is moving and that one day they won’t search for me the minute I leave the room or cling to my arm when they are unsure. The job of Parent comes with no shortage of tough stuff but how awesome to take pause and cherish the sweet moments with our little ones 💗

So honored to have been a guest on the podcast! I talk with Hayley all about the transition from 2-3 kiddos, I also talk about the experience having a preemie, mom guilt and miming so hard in general.

Who can relate to the pressure of trying to do it all, all the time? Whatever is on your plate or to do list - taking care of kids, work, laundry, dishes, drop offs, pick ups, cooking, scheduling, maintaining relationships with friends and your spouse.

It’s a lot! I am so grateful for my little podcast and especially grateful to all who have listened and shared. I’ve personally learned a tremendous amount. Perhaps one of the biggest takeaways I have personally learned is that it is

1. OK to ask for help
And
2. It is OK to take breaks or put things aside when you need to

So friends I’m listening to all that this week and will take a break from releasing an episode this week- stay tuned for a new one next week! We’ve all been battling the sniffles in my house so between taking care of kids and trying to take care of myself so I don’t get sick, I feel like a little pause is needed. And taking that pause and relieving some of the pressure to do it all helps me be a better Momma to my kids.

Over the next few days I hope to highlight some of the incredible guests and episodes that I’ve recently shared. Let me know what you’ve liked, want to hear more of and I’m always grateful when you share!

Curious, when is the last time you set aside something big on your to do list intentionally to let yourself recharge?

So you get married and/or settle down, maybe move to the suburbs... now what? Love the premise and her show is a lot of fun to listen to.
