Mini-Bio #1: Langston Hughes (1902 - 1967)
Langston Mercer Langston Hughes was an influential African-American writer known for his involvement in the Harlem Renaissance, a cultural movement in the 1920s where #Black #artists, musicians, and #writers showcased their talent. He wrote #poems, #essays, and #stories that captured the essence of Black life in America, often touching on themes of racial #equality, #love, and hardship. Some of his most famous works include "The Negro Speaks of Rivers" and "I, Too." Hughes inspired many people to appreciate the #beauty and complexity of Black #culture (Langston Hughes Society).
