Y'all, I asked Chat GPT to write a flash fiction story... and I am shook. The writing is on par or maybe even slightly above the average of what we see in the slush pile.
If you're a writer, and lot of you are, this is an absolute gamechanger. Good-enough prose will no longer be enough for a decently-good sale. Because why buy good-enough when a chat bot will also write good-enough stories ... but for free.
I have a lot of thoughts about what this means for the industry. And if you're interested, I want to play around with it a little, just kick the tires and see what Chat GPT can do with a really detailed prompt.
I'm really interested to hear how you all feel about this. Come at me with your thoughts about what this means for publishing in the comments.
